A public hearing was held by the Southold Town Board at the office
of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Wednesday, August
147 1957, with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilman
Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest; Town Attorney
Terry and Town Clerk Booth. This hearing was on the proposal to
amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold by
changing from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B"
Business District on a parcel of land in Southold and a pracel of
land near the village of Greenport. The Supervisor opened the
hearing at 7:00 o 'clock and read the call of the meeting. He then
called upon any person present who wished to speak either for or
against the proposal to amend the Building Zone Ordinance on the
aforesaid parcels of land. The hearing was duly closed at 7:30 P.M.
The minutes of this hearing were recorded by George T. Lederle.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
WHEREAS , a petition was received from Russell Broach, Vice-President
of Cove Beach Estates , Inc. relative to change of zone,'
NOWT THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application
to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901 Subdivision
C , Article 1X of -the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of
Southold, County of Suffolk, New. York.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS , a petition was received from William M. Beebe , relative
to change of zone,
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That- the Town Clerk of the Town
of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this applic-
ation to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Sub-
division C, Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town
of. Southold, County of Suffolk, New York. -
Vote of T own Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman �'lbertson•,-
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman .Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the petition of Peter Bidink and Son, relative to
the Mqp of Marion Manor be held in abeyance x±tk until such time
as. the Town Board further discusses the matter with the Planning
Board.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
AMENDMENT N0. 4
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson:
WHEREAS , the Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official
report and recommendation upon the Petition of William J. Mills 11
to amend the Building Zone Ordinance (including the Building Zone
Maps) of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, by chang-
ing from "A" Residential and Agrigultural District to "B" Business
District certain property situated near the Village of Greenport
in said Town, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board, after due consideration of the matter,
decided it was in the public interest to call a hearing pursuant
to the provisions of the Town Law and the said Building Zone Ord-
inance , and
WHEREAS, such hearing was held (pursuant to notice duly given)
at a meeting of the Town Board at the Office of the Supervisor,
16 South St. , Greenport, N.Y. , on August 14, 1957, at 7:00 P.M. ,
at which time all persons desiring to be heard in favor of said
re-zoning and also all those desiring to be heard in opposition
thereto were given opportunity and were heard, and thereafter the
public hearing was closed and decision reserved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD that the following
property be rezoned by changing from "A" Residential and Agricult-
ural District to "B" Business District:

ALL that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being near the
Village of Greenport , in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and
State of New Y"rk, bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the southerly line of Corwin Street
with the easterly line of Ninth Street; running thence in a general
easterly direction along the southerly line of Corwin Street , a
distFnce of 120 feet; running thence inn -a general southerly direction
and parallel to the westerly line of Lot No. 21 as shown on map of
property of S. Buel Corwin on file in the Suffolk County Clerk's
Office to the land of the Long Island Railroad Company; running
thence in a general westerly direction along land of Long Island
Railroad Company 135 feet , more or less , to the easterly line of
Ninth Street; running thence in a northerly direction along the
easterly line of Ninth Street, 149 feet , more or less , to the
point or place of beginning , and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the necessary changes be made upon the
Building Zone Maps so as to indicate the location of said property
as being located in "B" Business District as defined and regulated
pursuant to the Building Zone Ordinance (including the Building Zone
Maps) of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized
and directed to give the necessary notice of such changes in zoning
to the departments and agencies having jurisdiction in the matter.

NEENDMENT NO. 5 Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

WHEREAS , the Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official

amend the Building Zone Ordinance (including the Building Zone Maps)
of the Town of Southold, Suffolk Counjy, New York, by changing ffom
"A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District
certain property situated at Southold in said Town, and
tIHEREAS , the Town Board, after due consideration of the matter, decided
it was in the public interest to call a hearing pursuant to the pro-
visions of the Town Law and the said Building Zone Ordinance, and
WHEREAS , such hearing was held (pursuant to notice duly given) at a
meeting of the Town Board at the Office of the Supervisor, 16 South
Street , Greenport, N.Y. , on August 14, 1957, at 7:00 P.M. , at which
time all persons desiring to be heard in favor of said re-zoning
and also all those desiring to be heard in opposition thereto were
given an ppportunity and were heard, and thereafter the public
hearing was closed and decision reserved:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD that the
following property be re-zoned by changing from "A" Residential and
Agricultural District to "B" Business District:
ALL that tract or parcel of land situate , lying and being at Southold,
in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk, and State of New York, z
bounded on the North by Bowery Lane; on the South and Southeast by Main
Road , and on the West by land of Glover , and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the necessary changes be made upon the Build-
ing Zone Maps so as to indicate the location of said property as
being located in "B" Business District as defined and regulated
pursuant to the Building Zone Ordinance (including the Building Zone
Maps) of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, and- it is
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized
and directed to give the necessary notice of such changes in zoning
to the departments and agencies having jurisdiction in the matter.
