MEETING OF AUGUST 6, 1957.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E .
Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, August 6, 1957. The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Klipp- Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest;
Town �ttorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examin6 claims
against the Town concluding the audit work at 2 o 'clock P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of July 30th be and
hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuhill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the Town Board make its official visit to Fishers
Island on Tuesday, August 20, 1957. The meeting will be called
at 1:30 P.M. . The Supervisor is hereby authorized to provide trans-
portation. The boat will leave Prestons Dock in Greenport, at
5:00 o 'clock A.M.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and hereby is author-
ized to insert a half page advertisement in the one hundredth
Anniver-sary edition of the Suffolk Times at a cost of $56.00.
The text of said advertisement is to be determined and approved
by the Supervisor.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
A communication was received from Russell L. Davison in regard to
having a traffic light installed at the intersection of Youngs Ave.
and Route 25.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be authorized to contact
the Department of Public Works and request that a traffic count be
made at the intersection of Youngs Avenue and Route 25.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. 702451 issued by the Glens Falls Insurance
Company, in the amount of $41000.00 on behalf of Theodore B. Howard
be and hereby is approved as to its form, manner of execution and
sufficiency of surities therein.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. 622503 issued by the Travelers Indemnity
Company in the amount of $5,000.00, on behalf of Rosalie Randell
Rooks , be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner
of execution and sufficiency of surities therein.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of July be accepted
by the Town Board and placed on file.

RESOLVED: That the salary of Fred Marcell, Church Traffic Officer,
at the Southold Church be and hereby is increased fr6m $1.00 per
hour to $1. 50 per hour , effective as of August 6 1957.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $4,009.46 , Lighting
Bills in the amount of $1,797.1 5, Fishers Island Ferry District Bills
in the amount of $12, 507.01, be and the same are hereby ordered paid.

WHEREAS, the Town Superintendent of Highways d.id., .on„the 9 day of July,

the provisions of Section 142 of the HigR4f y'''Lcgtj
NOW,, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized
to purchase , in accordance with the provisions of Article 5-A of the
General Municipal Law, with the approval of the County Superintendent
of Highways ; the following:
One (1) - cubic yard Haiss High Power Excavating Bucket, ModelABIFE,
with 6 teeth, weighing 3,000 lbd. , delivered to Peconic , New York,
for a maximum price of One Thousand Four Hundred Seventy and 00/1000 '
Dollars ($1,470.00) , delivered at Peconic, L.I . , N.Y. 'and to be
delivered on or about August 30, 1957•
The Town. Superintendent of Highwayn is hereby authorized, subject
to the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways , to surrender
to the vendor
Check drawn on Machinery Fund -------------$19470.00
A contract of purchase for the item purchased shall be duly executed,
between the Town Superintendent of Highways and such vendor, and when
duly approved by the County Superintendent of Highways , it shall become
effective. When such contract has been duly executed and approved,
the Supervisor is authorized to complete such purchase upon delivery
of the &tem purchased in accordance with the terms of such resolution
and such contract, and to pay the above amount specified to be paid
by check
by a check drawn on the Mchinery Fund (Item 3) for $1,470.00.
