MEETING OF JULY 91 1957•
The Southold Town Board met at the .office of Supervisor Norman E.
Klipp at Greenport, on .Tuesday, July 9, 1957. The meeting was called
to order at 1:30 P.M. with the followint present: . Supervisor Klipp;
Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest; Superin-
tendent of Highways Price, Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims
against the Twon, concluding the Audit work at 2 o'clock P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of June 11 and July 2 be and hereby are
duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

WHEREAS , the Sterling Cemetery Association of Greenport, New York,
has duly applied to this board for consent thereof to the location
( by addition to existing, cemeter:y ) th this Town of a cemetery
upon the property hereinafter mentioned, Ind following a full dis-
cussion Of the matter, now, it is
RESOLVED: That consent be and it hereby is granted to the said
Sterling Cemetery Association for the location (by addition &o
existing cemetery) within the said Town, of a cemetery upon a parcel
of land not exceeding 1.3066 acres, being property of Austin Davis-on,
briefly .described as follows:
BEGINNING at a monument on the southerly line of the North Road,
503 feet, more or less , easterly along said southerly line from
Manhanset Avenue, said point of beginning being the northeasterly
corner of land conveyed by Herbert Fordham to the party of the
second part; from said point of beginning running along said south-
erly line .of the North Road, N. 66 degrees 01 min. 20 sec. E.-
100.00 feet; thence along land of the party of the first part at
right angles to said southerly line, S. 23 degrees, 58 min. 40 sec.
E.0 602;69 feet to other land of the party of the second part; thence
along said land, N. 80 degrees 07 min. 10 Bee. W. 120.42 feet to
said land, of the party of the second part first described above;
thence along said land N. 23 deg. 58 min. 40 sec. W. - 535.60 feet
to the point of beginning. Containing 103066 Acres.

WHEREAS, the East Marion Cemetery Association of East Marion, New
York, ...has duly applied to this Board for consent thereof to the
location (by addition to existing cemetdry)- in this Town of a cemetery
upon the property hereinafter mentioned, and following a full dis-
cussion of the matter, now it is
RESOLVED: That consent be and it hereby is granted to the said East
Marion Cemetery Association for the location (by addition to existing
cemetery) within the said Town of a camemtery upon a--parcel of land
now exceeding 1/4 acres, being property of John W. Vail,, briefly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a concrete monument set at the northeasterly corner of
Willis Brown, about six hundred twenty-nine (629) feet easterly from
Bay Avenue, as measured, along the boundary line between said land of
Willis Brown and lAnd of the party of the first part; running thence
northerly along said land of the party of the first part on thsextens-
ion northerly of the westerl line of land of the party of the second
part, two hundred seven (207T feet, more or less, to an iron pipe
and land of Otto Schaefer; thence easterly along said land of Otto
Schaefer fifty ( 50) feet, more or less , to +other land of the party
of the second part; thence southerly along said other land of fhe
party of the second part two hundred four (204) feet,' more or less;
thence westerly along said other land -of the -DiRpty of the second part
fifty-one ( 51) feet, more or less , to the point of beginning.

RESOLVED: That the Town of Southold, pursuant to Section 218 of the
Federal Social Security Act and Article 3 of the Retirement and Social
Security Law, will provide old-age and survivors insurance coverage
for eli ible officers and employees effective on the following date:
March 19, 1956.

2. That the following official is hereby authorized bo represent the
Town" of Southold and is directed to comply with the regulations of the
Director of the S ate .Social .Agency designed to extend old-age and sur-
vivors insurance coverage to positions of officers and employees pursu-
ant to Section 218 of the Federal Social kzt Security Act and Article
3 of the Retirement and Social Security Law:

of the minutes of such meeting, and that the same is a true copy xx
thereof- and the whole of such original. I further certify that the
full Town Board consists of 6 members, and that 5 of such member.s .were
present at such meeting and that 5 of such members voted in favor of
the above resolution.

RESOLVED: That Frank S. Dawson of New Suffolk, be and he ehreby is
appointed, subject to the written approval 'of the District Superintend-
ent of Schools Attendance Supervisor of all schools throughout the
Town of Soutbaoid except such schools as are otherwise provided for by
Sect16n'3213 of ,the Education Law. and be it further
RESOLVED: That such Attendance Supervisor shall be removable at the:
pleasure •of -the District Superintendent of Schools , and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for such Attendance Supervisor be * -
fixed at $1200.00 per year, payable in regular monthly installments., ,
he to pay his own expenses and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town -Clerk be and he hereby is instructed to notify
Frank Dawson and- the District Superintendent of Schools .of. tihs appoint-
ment.

WHEREAS , a petition was received from Robert H. Preston and LaGrant
Chapman relative to change of zone,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That .the Town Clerk of the Town of South-
old be and he hereby is directed. to transmit this application to the
Planning Board in accordance with Section 901 Subdivision C of Article
1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County,
New York.

WHEREAS, A PETITION WAS RECEIVED FROM Ursula Sledjieski and Lawrence
T. Waitz relative to change of zone,
NOW, THEREFORE? BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to
the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901 Subdivision C Article
1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Souhold, Suffolk Cp. NY.

WHEREAS , the minutes of September 6, 1955, do not' show the acceptance
of a highway known as Waterview Drive,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That inasmuch as the required dedication
and release have been duly received, ' map of same duly filed and the necessary
papers signed, the Town Board take over and..maintain as a public high-
way WATERVIEW DRIVE, situate at Southold, Town of Southold, Suffolk' '

RESOLVED: That Harold Price, Superineendent of Highways of the Town
of Southold, be ,and he hereby is authorized to advertise for and ,
purchase from the lowest .bidder, One half-yard Clamshell Digging
Bucket.

RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold approves the
action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island "Ferry District on
entering into License Contract#Da-1.9-016-ENG-5319 with the Depart-
went of Army for a portion of a certain parcel of land, together
with portions of the G/O dock and warehouse and all- other appurt-
.enances thereto located at the foot of John Street, New London
Conn. as shown cross hatched in red on said Exhibit A Plan entitled
Government Dock Water Street, New London, Conn. and attached to said
contract in the amount of $2,200.00 per annum, payable quarterly
in advance to the Treasurer of the United States, for q period of
two years, commencing on October 1, 1956.

WHEREAS, after due deliberation, the Town Board of the Town of
Southold has concluded that. it would be advisable to modify the
BUILDING ZONE ORDINANCE (including the Building Zone Mapsl of the
Town of Southold, Suffolk County, N.Y. by excepting each and every
lot on the filed subdivision maps hereinafter listed from the pro-
visions of Sections 302, 3039 304, 306, 307 amd- 308 pf."said Build.- .
ing Zone- Ordinance,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That pursuant to the provisions-of
Article 1X of the said Building Zone Ordinance, the Town Clerk,
acting. on behalf of the Town Board, instruct the Town Planning Board
-to prepare an official report upon the proposal of the Town Board
in accorddnce with said Article 1X and to advise the Town Board of
their recommendations:
