MEETING OF JULY 21 1957.
A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the office
of the Supervisor, Norman E. Klipp, at Greenport, on Tuesday, July 2,
1957. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with the follow-
ing present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill,
Clark and Demarest; Town Attorney Terry and Town '-'lerk Booth.
The purpose of this meeting was for the Board to consider the petitions
relative to change of zone -and other matters that were to come before
the meeting.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice. Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the salary of Otto L. Anrig, Chief of the Southold
Town Police Force be and hereby is fixed in the amount of Fifty-
eight Hundred Dollars ($5800.00) per year, payable in regular
bi-weekly payments , and be it further
RESOLVED: That these payments become effective as of July 6, 1957.

Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVEDL That the salary of Theodore B. Howard, Sergeant of the
Southold Town Police Force be and hereby is fixed in the amount
of Fifty-three Hundred Dollars ($5300.00) per year, payable in
regular bi-weekly pay ments , and be ,it further
RESOLVED: That these payments become effective as of July 6, 1957.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Joseph H. Sawicki be and he hereby is appointed Police
Patrolman (Constable) to act in such capacity on the Southold Town
Police Force, and be it further
RESOLVED: That compensation for such services be fixed at $13.85 per .,
diem, payable in regualr bi-weekly payments and be it further
RESOLVED: That this appointment take effect as of July 6, 1957,, and
that he serve in such capacity at the pleasure of the Southolda
Town Board.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

WHEREAS, A petition-'-was received from Cove Boach Estates, Inc. relative
to change of zone
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application
to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C
of Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold,
Suffolk County, New Yprk.

WHEREAS, a petition was received from Florence M. Moore, relative to
change of zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application,
to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C
of Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold,
Suffolk County, New York.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman -Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

WHEREAS, a petition was received from Peter Blink & Son, relative
to change of zone ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application
to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901 Subdivision C
of Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the town of Southold, :
Suffolk County, New Y rk.

WHEREAS, a petition was received from William J. Mills ,ll, relative
to change of zone,
NOW 9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That ' the Town Clerk of the Town
of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this applic-
ation to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Sub-
division c of Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the
Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
AMENDMENT NO.1 to BUILDING ZONE ORDINANCE
Moved by Councilman Albertson; .seconded by Justice Clark:
. .WHEREAS, the Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official
report and recommendation upon the Petition of FRED W. YOUNG to
amend the Building Zone Ordinance (including the Building Zone
Maps) of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, by
changing from "A" REsidential and Agricultural District to "B"
Business District certain property situated at Arshamomaque in
said Town, and
WHEREAS, , the Town .Board, after due consideration of the matter,
decided it was in the public interest to call a hearing pursuant
to the provisions of the Town Laiw and the said Building Zone
Ordinance , and
WHEREAS, stch hearing was held (pursuant to notice duly given)
at gameeting of the Town Board at the Office of the Supervisor,
16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. , on J ne 4th, 1957 at 7:30 P.M.
at which all persons desiring to be heard in favor of said re-zoning
and also all those desiring to be heard in opposition thereto were
given an opportunity, and were heard, and thereafter the public
hearing was closed and decision reserved;
NOW, • THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD that the follow-
ing property be rezoned by changing from "A" Residential and
Agricultural District to "B" Business District:
ALL that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being at
Arshamomaque, in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk, and
State of New York, bounded on the North by land of Sage and
Garde; on the east by lnad of Sage and Garde; on the South by Peconic
Bay; and on the West by Peconic Bay, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED:, That the necessary changes be made upon the
Building Zone Map; so as to indicate the location of said prop-
erty as being Located .in "B" business District as .defined and
regulated pursuant to the Building Zone Ordinance (including the
Building Zone Maps) of the Town of Southold Suffolk County, New
York, and it is FURTHER RESOLVED, That the town Clerk be and he
hereby is authorized and directed to give the necessary notice
of such change in zoning to the departments and agencies having
jurisdiction in the matter.

WHEREAS, areport was received from the planning Board, stating
that the request of Horace Kyser be granted fro change of Zone
from "A" Residential and Agriculture to "B" Business District
THEREFORE, BE IT. RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by
the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor 's Office in Greenport
on Wednesday, July 24, 1957 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. on the proposal
of Horace Kyser for change of zone from "A" REsidential and Agric-
ultural to "B" Business District.

WHEREAS, a report was received from the Planning- Board stating
that the request of Dawn Estates, Inc. be. granted fro a change
of zone,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that, a public hearing will be held by
the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor 's Office &n Greenport,
on.Wednesday, July 24, 1957, at 7:00 o 'clock P.M. on the proposal
of Dawn Estates , Inc. for change of zone from "A" R's. & Agric.
Dist. to "B" Business Dist.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED.- ,That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board will
be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport , on
Tuesday, July 9, . 1957, at 1:30 P.M.

WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING
Wel. the undersigned, being members-of the Town Board of the Town
of S'outhold,' Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive
notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town
B6`6t&'to be held at the Supervisor's Office at Greenport, New Y^rk,
in the Town of Southold, on Tuesday, July 2, 1957, and do hereby
consent that the same be held :on.,;sid date for the transaction of
any business which may properly come before said meeting.
