HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-06/04/1957 400 MEETING' OF JUNE 41 1 G, A . public hearing was held by the SoutholdTown Board at Greenport at Village Hall on Tuesday, June 4, 195/7, on proposals to amend the : Building Zone Ordinance of the Town o Southold by changing from K Residential and .Agriculture District-.-to B Business Districtf on ,a parcel of land situated at New Suffolk anJ a parcel. of land ' sit uated at.Arshamomoque. The Supervisor opened the heating at 7:45 P.M. and read the call of the meeting. He then called upon any person present who wished to speak either for or aga&nst the proposal to amend the Building Zone Ordinangd�. The minutes of this/hearing were recorded by George T. Le erl.e. .The hearing .was duly closed at 9 o 'clock P.M. . At the close of the hearing the Town Board adjourned to the Supervisor 's Office for a Board meeting. The following were present: Supervisor Klipp- Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill., Clark and Demarest; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.. ,l MEETING OF JUNE 1�9 1957. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by JxiXXXO# Councilman Albertson: BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he is hereby authorized to sign the necessary plans and specifications for the proposed dredging operations in Long Creek, Mattituck, together with an agreement on behalf of the Town of Southold assuring the County of Suffolk sufficient easements and spoil areas in connection therewith and also saving harmless the County of Suffolk from any damages re- sulting from said' dredging .operations. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on appointing Rosalie Randall Rooks as Jr. Clerk of the Fishers Island Ferry District , with compensation of $1.25 per hour, said compensation to be payable on a monthly basis, and not to exceed the annual sum of $700.00 and be it further RESOLVE: That this appointment be effective. as of May �9, 1957. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers .Island Ferry District on entering into a contract with Spearin Preston and Burrows, Inc. for the construction of a timber and pile ramp structure fill and stone rip rap and grading in the amount of $27,196.00., and on entering into a contract with Gunvold Kleven for the construction of' an office and storage build- ing 20' x 60' in the amount of $16,800.00 Vote of Town -Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman;:Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest; A communication was received from W. Harry .-Lister requesting some financial assistance from the Town Board to dredge the entrance to Wickham Creek. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson; RESOLVED: That the "request be granted W. Harry Lister for financial 2ssistance ,in dredging the entrance to Wickham Creek at Cutchogue, Town of Southold, N.Y. .For every dollar spent by Mr. Lister the Towns- will contribute the same amount up to but not to exceed the sum of $47 5.00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. A communication ,was received from the Brushes Creek Association requesting some financial assistance from the Town Board ' in dredging the entrance bo Brushes Creek. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the request be granted to the Brushes Creek .Assoc- iation for financial assistance in dredging imftudging the entrance to Brushes Creek, at Mattituck, N.Y. , Town of Southold. For every dollar spent by the Brushes Creek Association, the Town will contribute the smae amount up to but not to. exceed the sum of $475.00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Richard Manwaring be and he hereby is appointed Life Guard at bhe Southold Town Bathing Beach, he to act in such capacity six days a week, and six hours per day, and that he be compensated for such service at hhe rate of $1.45 per hour, and be it -further RESOLVED: That compensation. for such service be made in regular monthly payments , he to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tfitthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Robert Wells be and he hereby is appointed assistant Life Guard at the Southold Town Bathing Beach, he to act in such capacity five days a week, six hours per day and that he be compensated for such service at the rate of 91.25 per hour, and be it further RESOLVED: That compensation for such service bw made in regular monthly payments, he to serve at the pleasure of the Board.
