MEETING OF MARCH 13 , 1957•
A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the office
of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport , on Wednesday, March 13 ,
1957. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with the following
present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill,
. .Clark and Demarest; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The purpose of this meeting was to approve the acts of the Commission-
ers .of the Fishers Island Ferry District in entering into an agree-.
ment with the City of New London and Robert P. Collins .
The following Resolution was offered by Justice Clark and seconded by
Justice Demarest.
WHEREAS , THE BOARD OF COM14ISSIONERS OF THE FISHERS ISLAND FERRY
DISTRICT have successfully negotiated with the City of New Londoh�'
Connecticut, and with Robert P. Collins for a lease of facilities
at the foot of State Street, in w�s �R3�gx�afx�fx�krex���trxsid�x��
:kkx New London, Connecticut and the westerly Ralf of the south side
of the adjacent municipal pier so as to provide docking and wharfage .
facilities for the district for a period of ten years from April 1,
1957, and for premises adjacent to the municipal pier for a period Bf
20 years from April 19 1957, and
WHEREAS , the said Board of Commissioners has entered into an agree-
ment with Robert P. Collins , a License agreement with the City of
New London, and a lease with the City of New London, all subject to
the approval of the Town Board of the Town of Southold, and
WHEREAS , the Town Board of the Town of Southold, after due consider-
ation, has concluded that the aforesaid agreements are eminently fair
and in the best interests of the FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT and thin
people of Fishers Island,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of
Southold approve and it hereby does approve of the acts of the Comm-
issioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in entering into the
aforesaid agreements , and be it further .resolved that the members
of the Town Board indicate such approval in writing at the end of
each agreement. .
