SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD
October 5, 1981
A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was -held on Monday`;
October 5 , 1981 at the Southold Town Hall , Main.. Road,- Southold,,
New York. Supervisor Pell opened the meeiing. _at . 8 : 30'- A.M. with:
the following present :
Supervisor Wi11iam 'R. Pell III
Councilman Henry W. . Drum
Councilman John J.-Nickles
Councilman Lawrence Murdock,.- Jr.
Councilman Francis' J. Murphy
Town Clerk Judith T. Terry.
Highway Superintendent Raymond G. Dean-
Town Clerk Judith Texry .presented the Tentative 1982 Budget to the
Town Board members.
Supervisor Pell and the Councilmen briefly reviewed_ .t.he Budget .
Supervisor Pell stated that before he became ill he met with one
department head, Chief Wintexs ,. Southold Town Police Department .
He had hoped to meet with''kll' the` department. heads before presentation
of the Tentative Budget . He stated .he re.d. lined between - $115 ,000'. 00
and $120, 0.00. 00 out of the budget, estimates. 11 The Tentative Budget . _u
reflects a tax rate increase of 3: 2% over 1981. Thee Board friefly -
reviewed a few of the budget estimates filed .by -various departments.
Councilman Murdock submitted a proposal from G & S Electrica-1
Contractor for the installation of eight remote controlled 52"
".ceiling fans at the Senior Citizen/Youth Center:
On motion of Councilman Murphy, seconded by .Councilman .'Murdock, it was
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town ofSouthol-d -accepts the
Southold Town Tentative Bud get' 'for' 19'82. as presented by .the Town
Clerk.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Councilman Murphy, ' Councilman
Murdock, Councilman Nickles, Councilman- Drum, Supervisor Pell..
This resolution was declared duly 'ad'opt'ed: ._
The Board set 8 : 30 A.M. , Tuesday ,' October 13', 19'81 as a Work Session
to meet with department heads and review the Tentative 1982- Budget .
On motion of Councilman Murdock, : seconded by Councilman Drum, it was
RESOLVED that there bei.ng. no further business to .come before this
Town Board meeting adjournment be called at- 9: 30 A,M. .
Vote of the Town .Boa. d; Ayes : Councilman Murphy, Councilman
Murdock, Councilman Nickles, Councilman Drum., Supervisor Pell.
