MEETING OF NOVEMBER 81 1956.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Norman
E. Klipp,- at Greenport, on Thursday, November 8, 1956. The meeting
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and
Demarest; Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and
Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims
against the Town concluding the .Audit work at 2 P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: .Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be
held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on
Tuesday, November 20, 1956, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supergisor' Klipp; Councilman Albertson; _
Justices. Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby .is
authorized to advertise for;and purchase from the lowest bidder
sixty (60) tons of #1 New York State Rock 'Salt.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby is
authorized to purchase from the municipal manhinery Company, of
Coram' L.I. , one half yard P.M. Dragline Bucket, at a cost not to
exceed the sum of $800.00.

and Demarest and Councilman .Albertson.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby is
authorized to advertise for and purchase from the lowest bidder
four (4) 10.00 x 24 Low Pressure Heavy Duty 8-ply rating ground grip
builder tires and tubes or equal. .

and Demarest and Councilman Albertson.

-RESOLVED: The Bond No. SM 178-218-1, issued by the American Motorists
Insurance Company in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) on
behalf of James J. Fitzpatrick be and the same is hereby approved
as to its form , manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. 586521, issued by the Travelers Indemnity
Company in th4 sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) on behalf
of Christian J. Marshall be and the smme is hereby approved as to
its form, manner of execution, and sufficiency of surety therein.

Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That Irving M. Rogers of Greenport, Margaret E. Thompson
of Southold, Betty Tyler of Mattituck and Alfred R. Grebe, Jr. of
Fishers Island, be and they hereby are appointed Dog Enumerators
for the Town ofSouthold, for the year 1957. '

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Lawyer Bernard Meyer appeared before the Board representing Frank
McBride. He stated that when it rains the water backs up on about
one 'acre of Mr. McBride 's farmland and wanted to know if it could
be arranged so that the water would drain on Town property. The
Board stated that they would view the situation. He also stated
that Duck Pond Road,"which is 'a Town Highway"is infringing 17 or
18 feet on Frank McBride 's property. The Board stated they would
have the road surveyed and establish the correct boundary line.
The Public hearing on the preliminary budget was formerly opened
by the Supervisor at 2 O'clock P.M. in accordance with the notice
published in the newspap6rs o$ the Town, required by Section 113,
of the Town Law, The Supervisor read
' the call of the hearing;
and as there were no interested persons having appeared before the
Board to speak either for or against any of the items in the pro-
posed budget, the hearing was duly closed at 2:1 5 o 'clock P.M.

ANNUAL TOWN BUDGET FOR 1957
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
WHEREAS, The Town Beard of Southold has met at the time and
place specified in the notice of public hearing on the prelim-
inary budget and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon;
now therefore, be it
RESbLVED: ..That the Town Board of the Town of Southold does here-
by adopt such preliminary budget as originally compiled, as the
annual budget of this Town for the fiseal year be Inning on the
lst day od January, 1957, and that such budget as so adopted be
entered .in detail in the minutes of the proceedings of this Town
Board and be it further
RESOLVED: .That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall pre-
pare and certify, in duplicate, copies of said annual budget as.
adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Southold, together with
the estimates, if any, adopted pursuant -to Section 202-a, subd.2,
of the Town Law and deliver one copy thereof to theSupervisor
of this Town to be presented by him to the Board of Supervisor�8
of the County of Suffolk.
