MEETING OF OCTOBER 16, 19-56..
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
K16pp .at Greenport, on Tuesday, October 16, 1956. . The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Clark and Demarest; Superinten-
dent of Highways Price, Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims
against the Town concluding the audit work at 2 o'clock P.M.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of September 11, 1956, October.. lst and
October I+th, 1956, be and hereby -are duly. approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson;
RESOLVED: That . the- regular monthly Audit meeting and the °public
hearing on. the preliminary budget of this Board will be held at .
the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Thursday,
November 8, 1956, at 11:30 P.M.
.Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That. Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be authorized to enter
into an ,agreement with the - illage of Greenport to surface certain
roads. The .Village will supply the necessary material and the Town
of Southold will supply the necessary equipment and personnel. ' The
Village will pay for the labor supplied and gasoline 'supplied' or
purchased.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Clark and
Demarest and Councilman 'Albertson.
Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Councilamn Albertson;
RESOLVED: That .Frank E. Bondarchuk, Main Road, Orient, N.Y. be and
he hereby is appointed Police Patrolman (Constable) - of the Town of
Southold , for a .Probationary period of six months, following the date
that the appointment becomes effective, and be it further
RESOLVED: That .Frank E. Bondarchuk will serve in the capacity of
Police Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of Southold at the pleasure
of the Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary 'period be
fixed at Eleven Dollars (611.00) per day', payable in regular bi-
weekly payments, and be it further
RESOLVED: That this probationary period take effect on October 27, -
1E 56.

RESOLVED: That Henry F. Santacroce, Greenport, N.Y. , be. and he hereby
is appointed :Police Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of' Southold
for a Probationary period of six months, following the date that
the appointment becomes effective, and be it further
RESOLVED: That Henry F. Santacroce will serve in the capacity of
Police Patrolman (Constable) of 'the= Town of Southold at the pleasure
of the Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period be
fixed at Eleven Dollars ($11.00) per day, payable in regular. bi-
weekly payments., and be it further
RESOLVED: '.Tnat. this,„probationary period take effect on October
27, 1956.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Clark and
Demarest and Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson;_ seconded by Justice Demarest.-
RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of September be
accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

Justices Clark and Demarest.

Moved by Justice Clerk; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $2,792.23; Lighting
District Bills in the amount of $1, 511.33; Fishers Island Ferry
District Bills in the amount of $8,238.o6 be and the same are hereby
ordered paid.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Clark and Demarest;
and Councilman Albertson. _

E. Klipp,- at Greenport, on Thursday, November 8, 1956. The meeting
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and
Demarest; Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and
Town Clerk Booth.

are approved as read.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be
held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on
Tuesday, November 20, 1956, at 1:30 P.M.

Justices. Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby .is
authorized to advertise for;and purchase from the lowest bidder
sixty (60) tons of #1 New York State Rock 'Salt.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Councilman Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby is
authorized to purchase from the municipal manhinery Company, of
Coram' L.I. , one half yard P.M. Dragline Bucket, at a cost not to
exceed the sum of $800.00.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark
and Demarest and Councilman .Albertson.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice- Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby is
authorized to advertise for and purchase from the lowest bidder
four (4) 10.00 x 24 Low Pressure Heavy Duty 8-ply rating ground grip
builder tires and tubes or equal. .
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark
and Demarest and Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
-RESOLVED: The Bond No. SM 178-218-1, issued by the American Motorists
Insurance Company in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) on
behalf of James J. Fitzpatrick be and the same is hereby approved
as to its form , manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. 586521, issued by the Travelers Indemnity
Company in th4 sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) on behalf
of Christian J. Marshall be and the smme is hereby approved as to
its form, manner of execution, and sufficiency of surety therein.
