MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 11, 1956.
The Southold Town .Boar.d met at the office of Supervisor Norman E..
Klipp at �Greenportt on Tuesdayt September 11 1956. The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with .the .following present: Supervisor
Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest;
Superintendent .of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town
Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims
against the -Towns concluding the Audit worm at 2 o 'clock P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the meetings of August 14 and August 22 be and hereby
are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be authorized to attend
the dedication ceremonies of the new Animal Disease Laboratory to
be held at Plum Island on September 26, 1956.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthilli Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: ' That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be directed to deposit the
sum of $1,522.10 in the Highway miscellaneous account. This amount
was received from the Civil Defense Commission for Federal Grants
reimbursements for damage done in the hurricanes in 1954. '

and Demarest and Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded - by Justice Tuthill-
RESOLVED: That Bbnd No. 700876 issued by the Glens Falls Insurance
Company, in the amount of $49000,00, on behalf of Theodore B'. Howard,
be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of exeuction
and sufficiency of sureties therein.

Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Patrick J. Murphy be appointed temporary School
. Traffic Officer to direct traffic at the Southold School srossing at
Oak Lawn Avenue and Route 25, at a salary of $5.50 per day, for each
school day worked, retroactive to September '5, 1956,. He to serve
at the pleasure of the Town Board.

Justices , Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Albertson: seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOEEED: That the street lighting' contract between the Town of
Southold and the Long Island-Lighting Company, covering the Cutchogue
New Suffolk Lighting District for a term of one year commencing service
on the 1 5th day of October, 1956 and thereafter until terminated by
30 days written notice by either party be and the same is hereby ap-
proved by the Town Board.

Xustices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. -
Raymond Davids of Peconic requested that five street lights be installed
on Route 25 west of Peconic Lane.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
,RESOLVED: That .the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to install five (5) additional 100 c.p.
aerial street lights in the Peconic Lighting District, said lights to
be placed on Poles #633, #6359 #637, #639 and #642 along Route 25
west of Peconic Lane.

RESOLVED:That General Bills in the amount of $6,433.66, Lighting
District Bills in the amount of $1 497.63, Fishers -Island Ferry Dis-
trict Bulls in. the amount of $899lMl be and the same are hereby
ordered paid.

RESOLVED:_ That arrangements be made with Crabtree-O'Keefe to service
the New Chevrolet Police car.

Resolution declared adopted.

RESOLVEDi That the P_blice Report for the month of August be accepted
by the Town Board and placed on file.

Moved,:by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That in compliance with the request of the Board of Com-
missioners of the Cutchogte Fire District, Edward F. Grathwohl be and
he hereby is appointed Fire Deparibment Inspector for the Cutchogue
Fire, .District as provided for by the Multiple Resident Law, to
Dec. 31, 1956, and be it further
RESOLVED: That Edward F. Grathwohl serve in the capacity without
compensation.
