MEETING OF JULY 101 1956.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
at Greenport, on Tuesday, July 10, 1956. The meeting was called to
order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Council-
man Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest; Superintendent of
Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat a.t once as a committee on audit to examine claims against
the Town concluding the audit work at 2 o 'clock, P.M.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meetings of June 12 and June 13
be and hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Boad.d: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be held
zt the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday,
July 311 1956, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of T own Board: .Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark
and Demarest; Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman .Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Fank S. Dawson, of New Suffolk, be and he hereby is
appointed, subject to the written approval of the District Superinten-
dent of Schools , Attendance Supervisor of all schools throughout the
Town except such schools as are otherwise provided for by Section 3213
of the Education Law and be it further
RESOLVED: That such Attendance Supervisor shall be removable at the
pleasure of the District Superintendent of Schools and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for such Attendance Supervisor be
fixed at $1,000.00 per year , payable in regular monthl:t installments,
he to pay his own expense, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is instructed to notify
Frank S. Dawson and the District Superintendent of Schools of this
appointment.

and Demarest and Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seeonded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector for the Town of
Southold, who uses his own automobile in the performance of his duly
for the Town of Southold, will be compensated for the use of such auto-
mobile in the amount not to e--ceed the sum of eight cents ($.08) per
mile.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark
and Demarest; Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be empowered to engage the
services of Otto W. VanTuyl to survey Locust Lane from the State High- '
way Route 25 to L 'Hommedieu Lane.
Vte of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justiees Tuthill, Clark and
Demarest; Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of June be accepted by
the Town Board and' placed on file.

Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $1,807.86; Lighting Dis-
trict Bills in the amount of $1 476.88; Fishers Island Ferry District
Bills in the amount of $1 5,216.A6 be and the same are ordered paid.

A communication was received from Mrs . Frank Widirstky in regard to erect-
ing stop signs and children at play signs on Cottage Place. The Super-
visor was instructed to 'advise Mrs . Widirstky to have a suitable petition
signed by residents of that area requesting such signs .
