Meeting of May 25, 1971 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, May 25, 1971 at 3 :00 P.M. , with the following present: Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, Councilman Howard Valentine, Councilman James Rich, Justice Martin Suter, Justice Louis Demarest, Town.Supt. of Highways Raymond. Dean, Town Clerk Albert Richmond, Town Attorney Robert Tasker. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED: That the minutes of May 11, 1971 be and they hereby are approved. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes; Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Rich, . seconded by Councilman Valentine, it was RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on June 8, 1971 at 3 :00 P.M. Vote of the- Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS Walter Cain, Southold, L.I. , N.Y, has been a faithful and conscientious member of the Narcotic Guidance Council since his appointment on Mauch 10, 1970, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That it is with deep regret that the Town Board of the Town of .Southold .accept _the resignation of Walter Cain. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes :, Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Su-ter, Jus.t.ice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Valentine, it was RESOLVED: That this Board recommend that Edward- Wood., Jr. , Peconic, New York, be appointed a member of the Suffolk County Planning Board. Vote of the Town ,Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. .. . Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED: That John Plock, Sr. , Southold, New York be and he hereby is appointed a .member of the Southold Town .Conservation Advisory Council for a term of two years, whose term expires May 6, . 1973 . Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia,_ .Counc.ilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS, Wunneweta Pond Association and Nassau Point- Lag.o.on Associa- tion applied to the Town Board- for financial assistance in dredging the entrance to the creek; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor .Martocchia be and he hereby is authorized to contribute half of the total cost up to but not to exceed the sum of $475. 00 .toward the cost of dredging the entrance of the creeks . Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice -Suter, it was RESOLVED: That $1946.00 be and hereby is transferred from Part Town Contingent Fund to State Retirement Part . Town. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED: That $21, 000.00 be and hereby is transferred from Surplus Part Town to State Retirement Part Town. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, - Justice Suter., Justice Demarest. 418 Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded' by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED: That $4715. 00 be and hereby is transferred from Surplus Highway to Highway State Retirement. Vote of ' the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED: That' Supervisor Albert Martocchia be and he hereby is authorized to bid for material for the Justice Court Building. Sum not to exceed $3 , 000. 00. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED: That Howard Terry be and he hereby is authorized to purchase three (3) file cabinets. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter,' Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice 'Suter, seamded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED: That the -Town Clerk be and he hereby is 'directed to request the Long Island Lighting Co. to install one ' 175 MV light on Pole # , Eugenes Road, Cutchogue, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Justice Suter, WHEREAS John J. and Ann Kelly applied to the Town Board for permission to lay and maintain a well point and water pipe on Town property at Peconic Bay Boulevard, Mattituck, New York, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Raymond Dean, Superintendent of Highways, be and he hereby is authorized to issue a permit to John J. and Ann' Kelly, said permit to be drawn b y Attorney Tasker, to maintain a well point and water pipe on Town property. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. - Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Justice Suter, WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Town Board on the 4th day of May, 1971, a public hearing was authorized to be held in the matter of Amending Ordinance Regulating the Use of Parking Areas at Southold Town Beaches, and WHEREAS, said hearing was held by the Town Board on the 25th day of May, 1971, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and WHEREAS, the Board deems it in the best interest of the Town of Southold that this Amendment be adopted, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold enact the, following Amendment to wit: I: By amending Section II, subdivision a, by repealing sub- section (1) thereof and renumbering Subsections (2) to (8). . nclusive to (1) to (7) inclusive.- II. ' By amending Section III, subdivision (1) by adding a new subsection 'to be''subsection (c) to read as follows : (c) Such other proof of residence as is satisfactory to the Town Clerk. III. By amending the first sentence of Section III, subdivision (A) , subsection (4) to read as follows :. (4) - One day non=resident parking permits maybe issued for the parking of vehicles in the parking area at "Southold Town Beach" and Norman E. Klipp Marine Park " to any person by the attendant on duty at such parking areas .
