Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, January 12, 1971 at 3 :00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter; RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held at the office of the Supervisor, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, Tuesday, January 26, 1971 at 3 :00 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter. Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That the minutes of January 5, 1971 be and they hereby are approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; At 3 :00 P.M. in accordance with notice published according to law, bids were opened and read for five (5) marked and one (1) unmarked police ears. Three bids were received as follows : Greenport-Mercury Inc. Five (5) Police cars $4, 575. 00 each $22, 875. 00 Less trade-in 1, 000. 00 - 5, 000. 00 $17 , 875. 00 One unmarked car 3 , 777 . 00 3 , 777. 00 Additional cost for power steering. $110. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter; RESOLVED: That the annual report of Lawrence Waitz, Town Historian, for 1970, be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter. Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Councilman Rich; RESOLVED: That this Town Board approves the action of the Fishers Island Ferry District for the repair of the vessel Mystic Isle which hit an object and damaged the shaft, the sum for repairs not to exceed $2, 294. 25 as estimated by .s the Thames Shipyard. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- upervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter. Moved by J#stice Demarest; seconded by Justice Suter; RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73 S-689 BC, issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of Elizabeth McCloskey, in the amount of $20, 000. 00 for Commissioner-Treasurer of Fishers Island Garbage and Refuse District be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter; RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, Town of Southold, be and he hereby is authorized to attend State Building Official School, February 19 and 20, 1971, and be it further RESOLVED: That the actual and necessary expense to travel, meals and lodging incurred while attending said school, be a legal charge against the Town of Southold. Vote of Town �oard: Ayes-S upervisor, Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter. Moved by. Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Rich; RESOLVED: That the Town Board authorize the payment of two (2) buses for Ski Trips for the young people of the Town of Southold, the sum not to exceed $450. 00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine , and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter. Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Councilman Rich; RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $34, 714.88; Lighting District Bills in the amount of $6, 832. 13; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $13 , 098. 04. and Highway Bills in the amount of $8, 077. 97 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and Rich; .,Justices Demarest and Suter. Edward Latham, Robert Douglass, a group of menffrom the Business Men' s Association, Mrs. Tiedke from the League of Women Voters and others were present at the Board meeting requesting more information on the proposed Master Plan, Wetlands, etc. Town Attorney Tasker and the Town Board explained to them that the Master Plan was not complete, nor was the map accompanying the Master Plan and that as soon as it was available , it would be placed before the public for discussion.
