MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 27, 1955.
The Southold Town Board stet at the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp ..at Greenport, on Tuesday, September 27, 1955. The
meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following -
present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest;
Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town
Clerk Booth.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly Audit meeting of this
Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
at Greenport, on Friday, October 7, 1955, at 9:30 R. M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Clark and Demarest.
The Town Clerk presented to the Town Board pursuant to Section
111 of the Town Law, detailed estimates of revenue and ex-
penditures from the various Town Officers , departments and
districts for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1956.
The Supervisor received a communication from A. L. R. F ancisco
stating that he , Judge Hill and Frank Henderson contemplated
opening up the natural channel in Jockey Creek from a point
west from Mr. Hendrickson's dock to where the channel itself
meets the dredged channel from Goldsmith's Boat Yard to the
ba3f, a 30 ft. wide by 5 ft. deep channel. Mr. Francisco stated
that they would like some financial assistance from the Town
Board in dredging this channel.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justicq Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he hereby is
authorized to contribute the sum of $475.00 towards the cost
of dredging the channel in Jockey Creek, at Southold, Town of
Southold, N.Y.
Vote of Town Board: .Ayes-Supevisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the Board of Assessors of the Town of Southold
be authorized to attend the National Association of Assessing
Officers ,2lst International Conference on .Assessment Adminis-
tration at the Hotel New Y6rker, New York, N.Y. on October 16-
17-18-19-209 1955, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the necessary and actual expense incurred while
attending said conference is a legal charge against the Town.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the street lighting contract between the Town
of Southold and the Long Island Lighting Company, covering
the Mattituck Lighting District No.l . for a period of six months
beginning with the 26th day of September, 1955, and terminating
on the lst day of April, 1956, be and the same is hereby approved
by the Town Board:

RESOLVED: That the annual Highway estimate and budget of the Town
of Southold Bor the fiscal year beginning Jan.111956, pursuant
to Section 141 and 267 of the Highway Law and Section 111, 1121
and 113 of the Town Law be and hereby is approved, and be it further
RESOLVED: That one copy be delivered to the Supervisor for pre-
sentment by him to the Board of Supervisors.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Clark and Demarest.
