MEETING OF AUGUST 99 1955.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, August 99 1955. The meeting
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following 'resent:
Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill Albertson,, Clarl�and Demarest;
Superintandent of Highways Price, town Attorney Terry and town
Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims
against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2 o 'clock, P.M.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly, approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justice Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the Town Board make its official visit to Fishers
Island on Tuesday, August 23 , 1955.

Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $6,101. 57, , Light-
ing District Bills in the amount of $1,430.65, Town Trustees
Bills in the amount of $30.00, Fishers -Island Ferry District Bills
in the amount of $7,656. 51 be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
Voto of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor KILipp; Justices Tuthill,-
Albertson, Clark and Damarest.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board does hereby approve an
appropriation of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($1 5,000) annually
for the support of the Public Libraries of Southold Town, for the
years 1956-1957, and that the following proposition be submitted
to the electors at the next annual election:
Shall the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($1 5,000) be appropriated
annually for the support of the P ublic Libraries of Southold
Town for the years 1956-1957?
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. SM178188, issued by the American Motorists
Insurance Company, in the amount of $500.00, on behalf of Harry
W. Smith, be and the same is hereby ,approved as to its form, sum,
manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein.

Albertson, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That the police Report for the month of July be accepted
by the Town Board and placed on file.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
The Supervisor received a petition digned by residents of Southold
and Peconic requesting the Town Board to have a speed limit sign r
reading 30 miles per hour installed on Route 25 New York State
Highway about one mile west of the present speed limit sign. The
Supervisor stated he would take the matter up with the New York
Statte Traffic Commisdion.
Adjournment was at 5:30 P.M.
