MEETING OF JUNE 71 1955.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at Greenpor.t, on Tuesday, June 7, 1955. The meeting
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Albertson, Clark 'and Dem-
arest; Town Superintendent of Highways Price and Town Attorney
Terry.
The Town Clerk being absent, Justice Albertson was appointed
Acting Town Clerk.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to 'examine
claims against the Town concluding the Audit work at 2 P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and here-
by ane duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson;
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board
be held at the office of Supervisor Klipp at Greenport, on
Tuesday, June 28, 1955, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Ray Donahue, a representative of the Burroughs Corporation,
appeared before the Board and spoke in fzeference to the Micro
Film for the safeguard of Town Records..
Mr. W. Harry Lister appeared before the Town Board request-
ing some financial assistance in building a bulkhead or
breakwater out into the bay at Boatman's Harbor, at Cutchogue,
in the Town of Southold. This matter was to be acted upon
by the Board at some later date. .
R. G. Terry, Town Attorney, was instructed by the Board to
prepare a new lease for the parking area in Orient, property
of Edward L. Frost.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he hereby
is authorized to enter a lease with Edward L. Frost, of
Orient, New York, for all that tract or parcel of vacant
land situated, lying and being at Orient in the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, bounded. northerly by the
land of Alex Volinski, easterly by Village Lane, southerly
by the land 6f Elbert Luce and westerly by lother land of
Edward L. Frost, for use as a town parking lot for a term &_t`
. commencing the first day of January., 1955 and ending December
319 1955 in the amount of Thirty-five Dollars ($3 5.00) and be
it further
RESOLVED: That the above mentioned parking lot be included
and covered by the Town's Scheduled Owners Landlords and
Tenants Liability Policy in the amount of J20,000.00 per,
person and $40,000.00 each accident.

RESOLVED: That the following schedule of work of the attend-
ants at the Town Dump be as follows: . �+
Raymond Latham six days per week from 7 A.M,�@t A43 Opp.--Piour.
Stephen Coyle six days per week form 3 P.M. to 9 P.M. @ $1.25
per hour, plus one day from 7 A. M. to 3:00 P.M.
@ $1.25 per hour.

RESOLVED: - That Richard Manwaring be Rnd he hereby is appoint-
ed Life Guard at the Southold Town B thing Beach, to act in
such capacity seven days a week from' 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
and be it further
RESOLVED: That Richard Manwaring be compensated for ' such ser-
vice at the rate of $1.25 per hour, and be it further
RESOLVED: That compensation for such service be made in regular
monthly payments , he to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board.

RESOLVED: That Harold Price, Superintendent of Highways,
Town of Southold, be and he hereby is authorized to attend a
statewide school University, Ithaca , New York, on June 20,
21st and 22nd, 1955, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attend-
ing said school is a legAl charge against the Town.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $14,369.29,
Lighting District Bills -in the amount of $11432. 52,Town Trustee
Bills in the amount of $100.00, Fishers Island Ferry District
Bills in the amount of $7,178.21 be and the same are hereby
ordered paid.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of May be
accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

The following Bonds were presented to the Board for approval:

RESOLVED: Thst Bond- No. 491777, issued by the Travelers In-
demnity Company, in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)
on behalf of Wilfred C. Sinclair, be and the smae is hereby
approved as to its form, sum, manner of execution and suffic-
iency of surety therein.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. 4917769 issued by The Travelers Indem-
nity .Company in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)
on behalf of Adelard T. LeGere, be and the same is hereby
approved as to its form, sum, manner of execution and suffic-
iency of surety therein.

on behalf of Ernest John Bowles , be and the smae is hereby
approved as to its form, sum, manner of execution and suffic-
iency of surety therein.

WHEREAS; it appears that emergency conditions in respect to
housing in the Town of Southold exist and it is necessary
that .rent control be continued in said Town, now therefore

RESOLVED: that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby
declares and determines t)Aat emergency housing conditions
continue to exist within said -town, and be it further
RESOLVED: that all housing `acdomodations in the Town of South-
old presently under rent control shall continue under rent
control under the jurisdictior� of the Temporary New York State-
Housing Rent -Commi-ttion pursuant to the Emergency Housing
Rent control Law, ,as amended, and be it- further
RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Town Board be and hereby is
directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution
to the Temporary State Housing Rent Commission at its officce
at 370A Fulton Avenue,, Hempstead, - New York.

CATHOLIC CHURCH, Southold, New York, a religious
corporation, for consent to take by deed
certain lands situate in Southold, New
York, for cemetery purposes.
WHEREAS, ST. PATRICK'S ROMAN CATHOLID CHURCH of Southold,
New York, a religious corporation, has duly applied to this
board for consent thereof to the location in the Village of
Southold, Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, of a
cemetery upon the property hereinafter mentioned, and follow-
ing a full discussion of the matter, Now, on motion of Mr.
Justice Ralph W. Tuthill, seconded by Mr. Justice Louis M.
Demarest, it is
RESOLVED: that consent be and it hereby is granted to the
said ST. PATRICK'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, Southold, New York,
for the location within the said Village of Southold of a
cemetery upon a parcel of land not exceeding 10i acres , be-
ing property of Harold E. Gordon, briefly described as follows:
to wit: -
ALL that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being
at B,,yview, in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk, and
State of New York, bounded and described as follows:
Bounddd on the north by Bayview Road; on the East by land::
of Mary L. Dayton; on the South by meadow lands; and on the

BUDGET NOTE RESOLUTION DATED JUNE 79 19559
.AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A BUDGET NOTE
OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, SUFFOLK COUNTY,
NEW YORK, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1+1 500. FOR THE
.PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL REAL PROPERTY ADJA*
CENT TO THE TOWN DUMP AT CUTCHOGUE, IN THE
TOWN OF SOUTHOLDI SUFFOLK COUNTY? NEW YORK.
Be it RESOLVED this 7th day of June , 1955 by the .Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, as follows:
Section 1. That, whereas the Town Board of the Town of Southold
New York' by a resolution duly adopted on Feb. 15th; . 19559
authorized the Supervisor of the Town of Southold to purchase
additional property adjacent to the Town Dump at Cutchogue
in the Town of S uthold, Suffolk County-, New- York, at' a to'hl
cost not exceeding $5,000. , and whereasq no provision was made
in the annual budget to pay the cost of said purchase, pursuant
to Section 29.00 a.2 of the Local Law, for the purpose of pay-
ing the cost of .purchase of said property, there is hereby
authorized to be issued a budget note of the Town of Southold
in the principal amount of $4,500. , which is the maximum cost
of such object or purpose ' which note shall mature on June .,?th
1956.
Section 2. That, except as herein specifically prescribed,
said note shall be of the date, terms , form, contents and place
of .payment9 and at a rate of interest not exceeding two per
centum per annum, as may be determined by the Town Supervisor,
consistant, however, with the provisions of said Local Finance
Law of the State of New York' and shall be executed in the name
of the Town of Southold by tts Supervisor and the seal of said
Town shall be attached thereto.
Section 3. That said note shall be sold at private sale by the
Town Supervisor at a price of not less than pat value and accrued
interest, if any, and upon due execution and sale of said note
the same shall be delivered to the purchaser upon -payment by him
to the Town Supervisor of the purchase price in cash; and the
receipt of such Supervisor shall, be A full acquittance to such
purchaser who shall not be obliged to see tb the application of
the purchase money.
Section 4. The full faith and credit of the Town of Southoldl
New York, are pledged to the punctual payment of principal and
interest on said note.
Section 5, This resolution shall take effect immediately.
The question of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was
duly put to a vote which resulted as follows:
Ayes- Supervisor Norman E. Klipp, Justices of the Peace
Louis M. Demarest, Ralph Tuthill' Lester Albertson, and
Henry A. Clark.
Absent-Justice of the Peace E. Perry Edwards.
Noes-none.
The Supervisor thQreupon declard that the resolution was duly
adopted.

Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS the Legislature of the State of New York has seen
fit to reduce the number of justices of the Peace and to
provide for the election of town councilmen, and
WHEREAS such legislation as enacted has revised Section 88
of the Town Law and is applicable to the Town of Southold
THEREFORE be it resolved that in conformity with said
Section M of the Town Law there shall be elected at the
biennial town election to be held in 19559 one Justice of
the Peace and one Town Councilman, each for a term of
four years commencing January 19 1956.
