HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-04/22/1955 287 MEETING OF APRIL 22, 1955. The Southold Town Board. met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Friday, April 22, 1955. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest; Superintendent of Highways Price, Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board.: .Ayes-Supervisor-Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, May 10, 1955, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. George W. Percy-, Jr. , Esq. appeared before the Board represent- ing the Southold-Peconic Civic Association regarding labor camps in the Town of Southold. He suggested that rather than require a public hearing on the matter that the adjacent owners be con- sulted and given an opportunity to be heard on the matter. After some discussion the Board decided not to go along with his proposition at the present time. At 2 o 'clock P.M. in accordance with a notice published accord- ing to law, bids were opened for proposals for the operation of the Southold Town Beach and the concession stand thereon for a term of five years. The following bids were submitted: Jack Levin ------------------------$1,000:00 Peter Pappas and George Mellas----- 1,650.00 George Vloutely--------------. ----- 450.00 Albert Martocchia------------------ 555.00 Thomas Proferes-------------------- 19012. 50 or $800.00 and 3% of the gross amount per year. Mrs. Christine King -- no amount entered in the bid. Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the bids be turned over to the Parks , Beaches and Recreation Committees for their consideration. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justice Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That a special and executive meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held at the office of Superisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Monday, .April 25, 1955, at 7:30 P.M. to stuly the bids submitted for the operation of the Southold Town Beach and the concession stand thereon. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Adjournment was at 5:30 P:M. Ralph P. Booth Town Clerk
