MEETING- OF APRIL 1-2, 1955.
The Southold down Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman .E.
Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday April 12, 1955. The meeting wqs'
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Albertson, Clark and Demarest; Town Super- .
i,ntendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clark
Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims
aga&nst the Town concluding the audit work at 2 o6clock P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of March 22, 19559 be
and hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson and Clark/ Justice Demarest.

RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held March 28, 1955,. be
and hereby are duly approved as read. .

Frank McBride appeared before the Board in regard to a change
in the boundayy line at the Town Dump. .
Mr. Kapp appeared before the Board presenting a map of a proposed
highway through his property at Bay View, Town of Southold, re-
questing the Town Board to take over as a public highway. He was
given tentative approval by the Board until such time as he has
complied with the highway specifications.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be
held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport,
on Friday, .April 22, 1955, at 1:30 P.M.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clark be and .he1°hereby is directed to re-
quest the Long Island Lighting Company to install two (2) addit-
ional aerial street lights in the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Lighting
District, said lights to be placed on Poles No. 6 and No. 9 on
Stillwater Avenue, Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, New York.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of March be accepted
by the Town Board and placed on file.

WHEREAS, Edward S. Brush, Constable for the Town of Southold, has
requested a two weeks vacation, starting July 10, 19559
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board does
hereby grant Edward S. Brush a two weeks vacation from his duties
on the Police Force, starting as of July 109 1955.

WHEREAS, THE Town Superintendent of Highways did, on the 22 day
of March, 1955, duly recommend the purchase of certain machinery
pursuant to the provisions of Section 142 of the Highway Law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that $:ursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized

to purchase, in accordance with the provisions of Article 5*A of
the General Municipal Law, with the approval of the County Super-
intendent of Highways , the following:
One (1) ,Model 150, P. & H. Crane, Crawler Mounted. Crane is full
revolving and has independent live boom hoist , equipped with
35 ft. boom, Fairlead attachment and box of spare parts and tools.
Power plant; Hercules, 6. cylinder gasoline engine, 3 speed trans-
mission. Condition: Unused - Navy surplus, cycle serviced while
installed.
for a maximum of Six Thousand five hundred & 00/100 dollars
($6,500.00) , delivered,-...at Peconic, L. I. , N.Y , and to be delivered

WHEREAS, the Town Superintendent of Highways did, on the 22 day of
March, 1955, duly recommend the purchase of certain machinery
pursuant to the provisions of Section 142 of the Highway Law,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby auth-
orized to purchase, in accordance with the provisions of Article
5-A of the General Municipal Law, with the approval of the County
Superintendent -of Highways, the following:
One R-192 International Dump Truck with Garwood body model
G.C.-2 4 cu. Yd. Cap. with a 50 Hoist and cab protector; 6 cy;
175 H.P. , 406 cu. In. Dis , ' three man .cab. 10.00 x 12 - ply tires;
heavy duly Battery, 5 speed transmission; Heater and defroster,
Heavy duly front and rear springs.
for a maximum price of Seven thousand seven hundred & 00/100
Dollars ($7,700.00) , delivered at;Peconic, L._I. , N.Y. ,
The Towri 'Supe=rintbriderit`' of Highways is hereby authorized., subject
to the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways , to
surrender to the vendor
One 1947 K.B. 8 International dump truck
as part of the payment for the above machinery to be purchased.
The terms of payment ��vwill be as follows:

WHREEAS, the Town Superintendent of Highways did„on the 22 day
of March, 1955, duly recommend the purchase of certain machinery,
pursuant to the provisions of Section 142 of the Highway Law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that pursuant to Section 142 of
the Highway Law' the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby
authorized to purchase, in accordance with the provisions of
Article 5-A 6f the General Municipal Law, with the approval of
the County Superintendent of Highways, the following:
One 1955 Model 6403 Chevrolet 2 to Dump Truck, body and hoist;
6 c*ls 140 H.P. , 261 cu. in. Des. Engine; 8.25 x 20 x 12 ply tires;
Heavy duty front and rear springs; Deluxe cab; 12 volt Battery;
Heater and Defroster; R.H.& L.H. Mirroe; Flares and reflectors;
Deluxe oil Filter; Garwood body and Hoist Model A-40
for a maximum of Three Thousand Six Hundred Seventy eight & 00/100
Dollars ($3,678.00) , delivered at Peconic, L.I. , N.Y.
The Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized, subject
to the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways, to surren-
der to the vendor
One 1949 Ford Dump Truck
as part payment for the above machinery to be purchased.
