Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, January 4, 1955. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with ,the following present:, Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Albertson, Clark and Demarest; Superintendent of High- ways Price, Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: ' RESOLVED:. That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board-. Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Albertson, Clark and Demarest. Mooed by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest: RESOLVED: That the .regular monthly audit meeting of this Board will :qneet at the office of Supervsmsor Norman E, Klipp, at Green- port , on Tuesday, January 11, 1955, at 1:30 P.M T Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Albertson, Clark and Dmearest. Moved by ,Justice Clark; seconded by Justice .Albertson: RESOLVED:, That the Police Report for the rmnth of December be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. The Supervisor read a letter from Mrs. Eloise Bowden requesting four weeks vacation through the month of February. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice .Albertson: RESOLVED: ;, That the Town Board does hereby grant Mrs . Eloise Bowden four, weeks vacation as requested, starting as of February 11 1955 through February 14th with pay and a leave of absence be granted Mrs . A meeting. of the Southold Town Board will be held at the Southold Town Dump, at Cutchggwf,. On Tuesday, January 18, 1955 at 1:39 R.M. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss with Frank McBride the storm damage done at the Towa.. Dump during the hurricanes this past summer. Klipp be authorized to advert- ise for sealed proposals to furnish the Town of Southold two (2) 2-door sedan standard model automobiles , According to specific- ations for use as P olice Cars, said proposals will be opened at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, at 2 o 'clock P.M. on January 25, 1955. Klipp, Supervisor , be and he hereby is authorized to act as Public Welfare Officer at the pleasure of the Town Board and be it. further RESOLVED, that Norman E . Klipp, serve in such capacity without com- pensation, and be it further RESOLVED, That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate with the proper parties as is required by Section 30, Subdivision 39 of the Town Law. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS , It is required by Section 148 of the Education Law that a local Historian shall be appointed by the Supervisor of a Town, and WHEREAS , The Supervisor has appointed �-dayland Jefferson to act as Town Historian now, therefore , be it RESOLVED: That Wayland Jefferson be compensated while acting in such capacity in the amount of Four Hundred Forty Dollars ($440.00) per year, payable in regular monthly payments , and be it further RESOLVED: That the expenses incurred per year by the Town Historian in the performance of his duties be paid by the Town in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars (3$L*x ($150.00) per year , and be it further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate with the proper parties as is required by Section 30, Subdivision 39 of the Town Law. Conklin be and hereby is appointed Building Inspector for the Town of Southold until January 1, 1956 , and be it further RESOLVED, That Edwin S. Conklin be compensated for such services in the sum of Thirteen Hundred Twenty Dollars ($1,320.00) per year, payable in -regular monthly payments , and be it further RESOLVED, That this appointment take effect as of January 1, 19559 and be it further RESOLVED, That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate with the proper parties as is required by Section 309 subdivision 3 , of the Town Law. Bank of Southold Southold None Vote of Town Board: .Ayes$Supervisor Klipp; Jiztices Tuthill, Albertson3 Clark and Demarest. 212 Moved by Justice .Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest WHEREAS , Section 62 of the Town Law requires that every ' own Board shall meet on or after the 28th day of December, but not later than the 31st day of December , in each year, and WHEREAS , There is no other time specified by law when meetings of the Town Board of ,a Second Class Town should be held, now therefore be it RESOLVED, That the Supervisor be and hereby is empowered to call all meetings of the Town Board as may be required for the best interest of the Town, and be it further RESOLVED, That the Supervisor designate Tuesday as the day of the week for calling such meetings , and be it further RESOLVED, That each member of the Town Board be given at least 2 days notice in advance of such meeting, notice to contain the time and place where such meeting is to be held. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Demarest; RESOLVED, That the Assessors of the Town of Southold who use their own automobiles in the performance of their duties for the Town will be compensated for the use of such automobiles in an amount not to exceed Eight Cents ($.08¢) per mile. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson, RESOLVED, That the Suffolk Times , Greenport, New York, and the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchman, Southold, New York, be and hereby are designated as the official newspapers to publish the notice of the Receiver of Taxes that he is in receipt of such tax and assess- ment roll and warrants , and that the taxes and assessment therein may be paid to the Receiver at the times and with penalty other than his principal office when and where he will attend for the receipt of taxes and assessments in accordance with Section 22 of the.
