SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 29, 1982
A Snecial Meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at
8: 15 A .V. , Tuesd'ay, 'June 29,* '1982 at the Southold Town Hall,
llain Road, Southold, New York.
Present: Supervisor ?'lilliam R. Pell , III
Councilman Lawrence Murdock,' Jr .
Councilman Francis J. Murphy
Councilman Joseph L. Townsend, Jr .
Town Clerk Judith T. Terry
Absent : Councilman John J. Nickles
Justice Raymond W. Edwards
%loved by Supervisor Pell, seconded by Councilman Townsend,
WHEREAS , on or about July 1, 1981, the Town of Southold entered
into a written agr'eemen-t with the North Fork Animal e1 l'fare
League, Inc , to provide dog control services -to the Town of
Southold for a term of one year terminating on June 30, 1982, and
IVHEREAS, the Town of Southold is presently negotiating with the
North Fork Animal Welfare League, Inc. for a new contract for
such services, and
WHEREAS, said negotiations will not be concluded prior to the
expiration date of the present contract with said League and
both the League and the Town of Southold are in agreement that
said contract should be continued for a period of one month in,
order to conclude said negotiations.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Town of Southold does hereby consent 'to the
extension of the aforesaid contract to August 2,' 1982 .
2 . That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized and
directed to execute the appropriate document extending said
agreement as aforesaid.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Townsend, Councilman
Llurphy , Councilman Murdock, Supervisor Pell.
This resolution was "declared duly ADOPTED.
Moved by Supervisor Pell, seconded by Councilman Murphy, it was
RESOLVED that this Special Meeting of the Southold Town Board
be and hereby is adjourned at 8 : 30 A.M.
Vote of the Town Board: _Ayes: Councilman Townsend, Councilman
Murphy , Councilman Murdock, Supervisor Pell .
This resolution was declared duly ADOPTED.
