SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD
JUNE 24, 1983
4:00 P.M.
A Special Meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at
4:00 P.M. , Friday, June 24, 1983 at the Southold Town Hall, Main
Road, Southold, New York.
Present : Supervisor William R. Pell , III
Councilman John J. Nickles
Councilman Lawrence Murdock, Jr.
Councilman Francis J. Murphy
Town Clerk Judith T. Terry
Chief of Police H. Daniel Winters
Absent: Councilman Joseph L. Townsend , Jr. ' .
Justice Raymond W.-Edwards
Moved by Supervisor Pell, seconded by Councilman Nickles, it was
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby accepts,
with regret , . the resignation of Police Officer Alfred 'C. Falkowski ,
Jr. , effective June 30, 1983.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Murphy, Councilman
Murdock, Councilman Nickles, Supervisor Pell.
This resolution was declared duly ADOPTED.
Supervisor Pell advised the Board that he had just received the
Police Officer Civil Service List and would like to begin the
procedure to hire. The third individual on the list , Kevin J.
Lynch, has already attended the Police Academy.
Moved by Supervisor Pell, seconded by Councilman Murdock, it was
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby
appoints Kevin J. Lynch, Cutchogue, New York, a Southold Town
Police Officer, effective July 16, 1983, at a salary of $7,500.00
per annum.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Murphy, Councilman
Murdock, Councilman Nickles, Supervisor Pell.
This resolution was declared duly ADOPTED.
Moved by Councilman Murphy, seconded by Supervisor Pell , it. was
RESOLVED that this Town Board Meeting be adjourned at 4:20 P.M. _
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Murphy, Councilman
Murdock, Councilman Nickles, Supervisor Pell.
This resolution was declared duly ADOPTED.
