The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor
Norman E . Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, October 5, 1954.
The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the follow-
ing present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Albertson
Clark and Demarest; Superintendent of Highways Price; Town
Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine
claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 2 o 'clock.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice .Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and
hereby are duly approved as corrected.
Vote of Town Board; .Ayes-Sup.ervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
.Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
John Venteau representing the Venteau Construction Corp-
oration appeared before the Board presenting a map of Sand-
wood Beach Homes for sub-division purposes . This map was
presented to the Board at a previous meeting. The Board in-
formed Mr. Venteau if he would like the map approved the lots
must be 75 by 100 feet or equivalent in size. He then wanted
to know if the Board would take the highway over without
the map being approved as a sub-division. The Board stated
they would not accept this highway unless some provision was
made to eliminate the dead end which now exists. The Board
suggested he purchase a strip of land from J. Blair Young,
which borders on his property., making it a highway which
would extend into Peconic Bay Boulevard. When completed
the Beard will view same and if it is in accordance with
the highway specifications the Board will consider taking
it over as a Town Highway.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board
will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E . Klipp
at Greenport, on Tuesday, October 26, 1954 at 1:30 P.M.

Albertson, Clark and Demarest.

WHEREAS , It is for the best interests of the Town of South-
old to provide for off street parking now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Hipp be and he hereby
is authorized to enter into a lease with Howard E . Toedter
and Nelson Dickinson for all that track or parcel of land
situate, lying and being, at Southold, in the Town of South-
old, County of Suffolk and State of New York, bounded north-
erly by the Main Road; easterly by land o.f Southold Park
District; Southerly by land of George Bridge and westerly
by land of Margery Burns , containing by estimation .24 acres
be the same more or less , excepting therefrom the westerly
fifteen (1 5) feet of the above described premises , with
the privileges and appurtenances for and during the term
of two M years from the first day of January, 1.9 55, which
term will end December 31, 1957, for the total rent of One
Dollar ($1.00) to be paid upon the signing of this agreement.

privileges and appurtenances for and during the term of two
(2) years from the first day of January, 1955, which term
will end December 31, 1957, for the total rent of One Dollar

($1.00) to be paid upon the signing of this agreement.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $5 397.25'
Lighting District Bills in the amount of $1,279.�3, Town
Trusted Bills in the amount of $65.00 Fishers Island Ferry
District Bills in the amount of $12,1 3 .24, be and the same
are hereby ordered paid.

Albertson, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of September
be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

RESOLVED: That inasmuch as the required dedication has been
duly received, map of same'-duly filed and the necessary
papers signed, the Town Board take over and maintain as
public highways , subject to inspection and approval of the
Town Board, MADISON STREET and WILMARTH AVENUE- EXTENSION,
situate in the Town of Southold, near the village of
Greenport, . Suffolk County, New York.Vote of Town Board:

RESOLVED:' That this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve
as the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year ,
beginning on the lst day ,of January, 1955, the itemized
statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto
attached and made a part of this resolution, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That such preliminary budget shall be
filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be
available for inspection by an interested person at all
reasonable hours , and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Board shall meet at 2 o 'clock
P.M. on the 26th day of October , 1954, for the purpose of
holding a pubkic hearing upon such preliminary budget, and
be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk give notice of such
public hearing in the manner provided in Section 113 of the
Town Law, a4d that such notice be published in substant-
ially the following form: ;
NOTICE OF HEARIiVG UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that the preliminary budget of the
Town of Southold, for the fiscal year beginning January lst,
1955, has been completed and filed in the office of the Totm
Clerk of Southold, New York, where it is available for in-
spection by any interested person at all reasonable hours.
Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the
Town of Southold will meet and review said preliminary budged ;
and hold a public hearing thereon, at THE OFFICE OF THE
SUPERVISOR, GREENPORT. NEW YORK, at 2 o 'clock, P.M. on the
26th day -of October, 195 , and that at such hearing any
person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary
budget as compiled or for or against any item or items there-
in contained.
