kETING OF .AUGUST 24, 1954.
The Annual Fishers Island Meeting of the Southold Town
Board was held on Tuesday, August 24, 1954. The meeting was
called to order at 1:45 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp;: Justices Tuthill, Albertson, Clark, Dem-
arest and Edwards; Superintendent of Highways Price; Town
Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth; also Officials of the
State, County and Town and a large delegation of Rishers
Island residents.
Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the reading of the minutes of the previou's
meeting be dispensed with.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Kipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark, Demarest and Edwards.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly Audit meeting of this
Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Klipp at Greenport, on Thursday, September 9, 1954, at
1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark, Demarest, and Edwards.
Supervisor Klipp inquired if ther were any problems the
Fishers Island people would like to discuss . There were
lengthy discussions on zoning, automobile operators license
tests , Town Highway Department plowing snow on private
roads and other Town matters.
Adjournment was at 3 P.M.

WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING
WE , the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of
the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby
severally waive notice of. the time, place and purpose of
the meeting of the Town Board, to be held at Fishers Island,
in the Town of Southold, New York, on Tuesday, August' 24,
1954, and do hereby consent that the same be held on said
date for the transaction of any business which may properly
come before said meeting.

At a meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Southold,
Suffolk Uounty, New York, held at Fishers Island, New York,
on the 24th day of August. 1954.

In the Matter
of
The acquisition of an airfield or landing
field and appurtenances , a pier, buildings
and land fronting on Silver Eel Cove, Fort
H, G. Wright, Fishers Island, in the Town
of Southold, Suffolk Uounty, New York.
IHEREAS , the Commissioners of the Fishers Island
Ferry District have by resolution dated .August 20th 1954
requested that the Town Board of the Town of Southold ac-
quire on behalf of the Fishers Island Ferry District an
airfield or landing field known as "Elizabeth Field" and
appurtenances at Fort H. GT Wright, Fishers Island, in the
Town of Southold, Suffolkc:;County, New York, and that pier,
buildings and land fronting on Silver Eel Cove, Fort H. G.
Wright, Fishers Island, in the Town of Southold, Suffolk
County, New York, described as follows:
ALL those certain tracts or parcels of land
with the buildings and improvements thereon, located in the
Fort Wright area on Fishers Island, in the Town of Southold,
County of Suffolk, and State of New York, bounded and des-
cribed as follows : -
PARCEL ONE:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the Southwesterly
line of Beach Avenue with the Southeasterly line of Equestrian
Avenue, said point being ld.cated 618.25 feet North and 3873.92
feet West of U. S. Coast & Geodetic Triangulation Station
"PROS" and from said point running on a course of South 41
degrees 46 minutes West 59.7 feet; thence South 79 degrees
28 minutes 15 seconds West 11.05 feet; these last two lines
being along the Southeasterly line of Equestrian Avenue;
thence South 28 degrees 19 minutes West 119.31 feet; thence
South 46 degrees 39 minutes West 82.6 feet; thence South
67 degrees 13 minutes West about -3838 feet to the Easter-
ly shore of Fishers Island Sound; thence in a general South-
erly and easterly direction along the shore of Fishers
Island Sound and Block Island Sound a total distance of
about 8300 feet; thence on a course of North 13 degrees
20 minutes West 107 feet; thence North 76 degreed 0 minutes
East 386 feet; thence North 39 degrees 41 minutes 40 seconds
West 64.38 feet- thence North 39 degrees 45 minutes 10 sec-
onds West 226.2$ feet; thence South 25 degrees 36 minutes
50 seconds East 32.38 feet; thence South 26 degrees 2 minutes
30 seconds West 131.81 feet; thence South 77 degrees 17 mfan-
utes West 202.32 feet; thence North 67 degrees 38 minutes
West 342. 57 feet; thence North 81 degrees 28 minutes West
447.94 feet; thence North 78 degrees 31 minutes 10 seconds
West 281.33 feet; thence North 84 degrees 21 minutes 15
seconds West 345-39 feet; thence North 47 degrees 7 minutes
40 seconds West 514.09 feet to the point of beginning, the
last 8 lines following along the Southeasterly, Southerly
and Southwesterly line of Beach Avenue.
PARCEL TWO:
BEGINNING at a point on the Northerly side of
Whistler Avenue said point being ldcated 201.11 feet South
and 5496.17 fee West of U. S . Coast & Geodetic Triangulation
Station "PROS" and from said point running North 25 degrees
10 minutes West 165.9 feet; thence North 79 degrees 3 min-
utes West 105.9 Feet; thence North 25 degrees 36 minutes
West 37 feet; more or less, to the shore of Silver Eel Cove;
thence in a Northwesterly direction along the shore of the
Cove about 145 feet; thence Northeasterly at right angles
25.2 feet; thence Northwesterly about 360.4 feet, the last
two lines being along the dock; thence South 47 degrees 31
minutes West 275.9 feet; thence South 41 degrees 52 minutes
East 618.6 feet; thence North 67 degrees 13 minutes East
30.25 feet, this line abutting Southerly on Tract #1;
thence North 41 degrees 52 minutes '.. 'West 575.4 feet; thence
North 47 derees 31 minutes East 97.86 feet; thence South
43 degrees minutes East 489.47 feet; thence North 67 degrees
17 minutes09 157.85 feet; thence North 53 degrees 15 minutes
East 89.31 feet; thence South 25 degrees 10 minutes East
159.9 feet; thence North 67 degrees 13 minutes East 24.2
feet to the point of beginning, this last line abutting
Souhterly on Parcel One,
and
WHEREAS , the Board of Commissioners of said Fishers
Island Ferry District have by resolution indicated that it
is highly, desirable that said Ferry District acquire and
operate a public airport at Fishers Island and that said
Ferry District acquire that pier , buildings and land front-
ing on Silver Eel Cove, and
WHEREAS , the amount of consideration to be aid
therefore does not exceed the sum of One Hundred ( 100.00)
Dollars , it is hereby
ORDERED, that a meeting of the Town Board of the
said Town of Southold shall be held at the Fishers Island
Schoolhouse Auditorium at Fishers Island, New York, on the
7th day of September, 1954 at 1:30 P.M. in the afternoon
of that day, to consider the proposed acquisition of
the aforesaid property and to hear all persons interested
in the subject thereof concerning the same, and for such
other action on the part of the Town Board with relation
to the said resolution as may be required by law or proper
in the premises . H
