MEETING OF JULY 131 1954.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor
Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday July 139 1954.
The meeting was called to order at 1:30 PM. with the
following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest; Superintendent of Highways
Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine
claims against the Town concluding the Audit work at 2
o 'clock P.M.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by 'Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be
and hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
]RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board
will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. . Klipp
at Greenport, on Iuesday, July 27, 19,54, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Frank S. Dawson of New Suffolk, be and here-
by is appointed, subject to the written approval of the
District Superintendent of Schools , Attendance Supervisor
of all schools throughout the Town except such schools as
are otherwise provided for by Section 3213 of the Education
Law, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That such .Attendance Supervisor
shall be removable at the pleasure of the District- Super-
intendent of Schools , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the compensation of such
Attendance Supervisor be fixed at $1000.00 per year, pay-
able in regular monthly installments, he to pay his own
expense, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and hereby
is instructed to notify Frank S. Dawson and the District.
Superintendent of Schools of this appointment.

RESOLVED: . That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he here-
by is authorized to contribute the sum of $200.00 to the
Greenport Rotary Club to help defray the expense of adver-
tising Southold Town in Booklets, providing they advertise
on a town wide basis.

.Albertson, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of June
be accepted by the Town Board and placdd on file.

Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be authorized
to advertise for sealed proposals to furnish the Town of
Southold two (2) 2-door sedan standard model Automobiles
according to specifications, for use as Police Cars.
Vote of Town Board:Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $5,098.41,
Lighting District Bills in 'the amount of $1,411.36, Town
Trustee Bills in the amount of $40.00, Fishers Island
Ferry District Bills in the amount of $7,579.00, be and '
the same are hereby ordered paid.
Vote of Town Board:Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Harry W. Smith be and he hereby is appoint-
ed Police Patrolman (Constable) to act in such capacity-
on the Southold Town Police Force, and be it further
RESOLVED: That compensation for such services be fixed
at Twelve Dollars ($12.00) per day, payable in regular
bi-weekly payments , and be it further
RESOLVED: That this appointment take effect as of July
159 1954, and be it further
RESOLVED: That Harry W. Smith serves in such capacity at
the pleasure &f the Southold Town Board.

hill, Albertson, Clark and Demarest-.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E . .Klipp be and he here-
by is authorized to issue the following checks ) in payment
for the purchase of land and docks located at the foot
of State Street, New London, Connecticut, from the Fishers
Island Navigation,Company:
(1) Payable to the Fishers Island Navigation Co.--$10,883. 53
(2) Payable to the Title Guaranty and Trust Co.--- 208.00
and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is author-
ized to issue an additional check payable to the Title
Guaranty and Trust Company in the amount of $70.00 owed
for one extra chamn of title in the purchase of property
from the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company.
Vote of Town Board:Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Frank Azarenok requested the Town Board to have two street
lights installed on Horton Avenue in Mattituck, N.Y.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson;
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed
to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install two
(2) additional aerial street lights in the Mattituck No.l
Lighting District, said lights to be placed on Pole No. 4
and Pole No. 6 on Horton Avenue in Mattituck, N.Y.
Vote of Town Board:Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill,
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
