MEETING OF NOVEMBER 5, 1953.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor
Norman E. . Klipp at Greenport on Thursday, November 5, 1953.
The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the follow-
ing present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, and
Albertson; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town
Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth,
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine
claims against the Town concluding the Audit work at 2 P.M.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be
and hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill and Albertson.
Moved by Justice Albertson; secohded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board
be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at
Greenport, on Tuesday, November 24, 1953, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of- Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill and Albertson.
Mr. O'Keefe as President of the Wunnewetta Pond Association
applied to the Town Board for some financial assistance
in dredging the Inlet to Wunnewetta Pond.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp, Supervisor, be and he here-
by is authorized to contribute the sum of Three Hundred and
Twenty-five Dollars ($325.00) twards the cost of dredging
the Inlet to Wunnewetta Pond.at Nassau Point, Town of
Southold, N. Y.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill and Albertson.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the Police Report Cor the month of October
be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

Tuthill and Albertson.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the Amou#t of $1 481.00,
Lighting Bills in the amount of $1,402.13, Town trustee
Account in. the amount of $109.79 Fishers Island Ferry
District Bills in the amount of J181,677.34, be and the ' -
same are hereby ordered paid.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill and Albertson.
The Board canvassed the ballet cast for the Library approp-
riation in the General Electiop of November3, 1953. The
vote .was as .follows: Yes-620 -- No- 226. The proposition
t6i.apptopriate the sum of Twelve Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars ($12 500.00), for the support of the,,,.Public Libraries
of Southold town for the fiscal years ,•1954-1955 was duly
declared passed.
Mrs.. Anne Montgomery appeared before the Town Board and
complained that she had heard that it was called to the
attention of Agt. Howard that liquor had been illegally
sold to a man by the name of DeJesus at Len Jones ' and
Vivian Hodges, and no action had been taken. She inquired
as to what the Town Board intended to do about the matter.
Supervisor Klipp advised Mts. Montgomery that both of the
alleged places werarlocated in the Village of Greenport and
she should make her complaint to the officials of that area.
The Supervisor further advised that Mrs. Montgomery should
confine her remarks on matters relative to the Town of
Southold only, and not the Incorporated Village of Greenport.

Mrs. Montgomery then inquired as to what the Town was do-,
ing relative to Brownie Tam's Place, and Chief Anrig advised
that he and Sgt. Resling had periodically checked this pla*e
and found they had a license to operate a restaurant, and
had never found any evidence of liquor being sold illegally.

Southold, DO HEREBY CERTIFY THAT I have compared the fore-
going with the annual budget of the Town of Southold,
duly adopted by the Town Board of said Town on the 5th
day of November, 1953, and entered in detail in the minutes
of the proceedings of said Board and that the foregoing
is a true and correct copy of said annual budget and the
whole thereof.
- IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand
and the seal of said Town, this 5th day of November, 1953.

RESOLUTION OF TOWN BOARD ADOPTING ANNUAL
BUDGET WITHOUT AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold has met at
the time and place specified in the notice of public hear-
ing on the preliminary budget and heard all persons desiring
to be heard thereon; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of touthold does
hereby adopt such preliminary budget as originally compiled,
as the annual budget of this Town for the fiscal year be-
ginning on the 1st day of January, 1954, and that such budget
as so adopted be entered in detail in the minutes of the
proceedings of this Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall
prepare and certify, in duplicate copies of said annual
budget- as adopted by the Town Bar of the Town of Southold,
together with the estimates, if any, adopted pursuant to
Section' 202-a, Subd. 2, of the Town Law and deliver one
copy thereof to the Supervisor of this Town to be present-
ed by him to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Suffolk.
