MEETING OF OCTOBER 8, 1953.
The Southold Town Board met at thg office of Supervisor
Norman E. Klipp at Greenport on hursday, October 8, 1953.
The. meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the follow-
present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill,Albert-
son and Clark; -Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town
Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sAt at once as a committee on audit to examine
claims against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2
o'clock P.M.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and
hereby are duly approved as .read.
Vote of Town board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson::
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board
be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at
Greenport, on Tuesday, October 27, 1953, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
WHEREAS, the Town of Southold has been advised by the New
York State Public Service Commission that a recent in-
spection found the approach warning signs to several rail-
road crossings missing or broken at the following locations:
Hortons Avenue Crossing, ' Peconic, Railroad Avenue Crossing,
Southold, Pipes Neck Crossing, Southold, Laurel Avenue
Crossing, Southold, therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways of the Town
of Southold be and hereby is instructed to rectify this i
condition with the least possible delay and when same has
been accomplished, to so notify the New York State Public
Service Commission.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
WHEREAS, quotations were received from Abe Brown, Levinson's,
Lipman Bros. and H. Levin on overcoats to be purchased for
the Police Department of Southold town.
BE IT RESOLVED: That after careful deliberation on the
quotations, the Supervisor was instructed to place the
order for overcoats with H. Levin.
Vote Of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $3060.01,
Lighting District Bills in the amount of $1,399.46, Fishers
Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $7,231.04
be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
Lawyer Krupski presented to the Board for its appr6val
a map of Southwood for sub-division purposes, property of
William H. Kelynack, at Southold.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That pursuant to Section 335 of the Real Property
Law, the Town Loard does hereby approve the map of youth-
wood for sub-division purposes, situated at Southold, Town
. of Southold, Suffolk county, New York, owned and developed
by William H. Kelynack.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of September
be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to purchase a tractor to be used
on Fishers Island for Highway work, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways be and hereby .
is authorized to purchase from the Long Island Produee
and Fertilizer Company Wouthold, N.Y. One Cub Farmall
Tractor Serial No. 147�22 at a cost not to exceed $940.00.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.

RESOLVED: That this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve
as the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year
beginning on the 1st day of January, 1954, the itemized
statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto
attached and made a part of this . resolution, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That such preliminary btadget shall be
filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be
available for inspection by *ny interested person at -all
reasonable hours, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Board shall meet at- 2- o'clock
P.M. on the 5th -day of November, 1953, for the purpose of
holding a public hearing upon such preliminary bedget, and
be fat
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk give notice of
such hearing in the manner provided in Section 113 of the
. Town Law, and That such notice be published in substant-
ially the following form:
NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that the preliminary bedget
of the Town of Southold for the fiscal year beginning
January 1st9 1 } has been completed and filed in the
office, of the Town Clerk at Southold, New York., where it
is available by any interested person at all reasonable
hours.
Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board
of the Town of Southold will meet and review said prelim-
inary budget and hold a public hearing thereon, at The
Office of the Supervisor, Green port, New York, at 2
o 'clock P.M. on the 5th day of November, 1M, and that
at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or
against the preliminary bedget as compiled or for or
against any item or items therein contained.,
Pursuant to Section 113 of the Town Law,' the.. proposed
salaries of the following town officers Are hereby specified
as follows: .
