Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, September 8-,, 1953 • The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the follow- ing 'present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, .Albertson and Clark; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims against the Town, concluding the Audit work at 2:15 P.M. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday, .August llth be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill , Albertson and Clark. Moved by •Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Teary:, RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held on Fishers Island on -August 18th, be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: .Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, "lbertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:: t}ESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E . Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, September 29, 1953 , at 1:39 P.M. Vote ,of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clarko The hearing on the matter of purchasing a Jeep Pick-up Truck for the Town Highway Department was duly opened at 1:30 o 'clock P.M. No person appeared before the Board to speak either for or against the item mentioned in the legal notice published in the Town Newspapers . The hearing was duly closed at 2:30 P.M. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the matter of purchasing a Jeep Pick-up Truck for the Highway Department, mentioned in the legal notice , be laid on the table for the present. Vote of down Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp, Supervisor, be and he hereby is authorized to transfer the amount of One Hundred Fifty-six Dollars ($156 .00) now in the Building Department Account to th-e General Account , on the recommendation of the State Examiner. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $5,036 .37, Lighting District Bills in the amount of 61,399.67, Town Trustees Account in the amount of $131.00, Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the Amount of $7,712.45, be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, i Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded bV Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That inasmuch as the required dedication has been duly received, map of same duly filed and the necessary papers signed, the Town Board take over and maintain as pudic highways , SUNSET LANE and SUTTON PLACE , situate in the Town of Southold, near the Village of Greenport , Suffolk County, New York. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor klippT Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. 7 Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of August be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Edward Frost be and hereby is appointed School Traffic Officer , to act in such capacity at the Orient School, and be it further RESOLVED: That Edward Frost be compensated for such services in the amount of Four Dollars (84.00) per day for each school day worked payable in regular monthly payments. Vote ,of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices 2xxmy, Tv.thill, Albertson and Clark. Justice Terry not voting. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That Joseph Sawiski be appointed Police Patrolman (Constable) to serve in such capacity on the Southold lown Police Force on a probationary period for three months , and be it further RESOLVED: That Joseph Sawiski be compensated for such services in the amount of Ten Dollars and Fifty Cents ($10. 50) per day, payable in regular bi-weekly payments . Vote of Town Board: .Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved. by Justice .Terry; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Bond No . 394123 , issued by The Travelers Indemnity Company, in the amount of $5,000.00, on behalf of Anne Carolyn Wall , Junior Clerk for the Fishers Island Ferry District , be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, , Tuthill , Albertson and Clark. ' Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry-* RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approve the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers -island Ferry District in rescinding their action of .August 20, 1952, granting the manager of the Fishers Island Ferry District an annual increment of One H undred Dollars ($100.00) effective August 1, 1952., and annually thereafter until a maximum of .- Forty-five Hundred Dollars. ($4500.00) per year is reached , and granting the Manager of the Fishers Island Ferry District a salary of Forty-four Hundred Dollars ($4400.00) per .:year , payable in regular semi monthly payments , effective as of August 16 , 1953 . Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Town Board does hereby approve an approp- riation of Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($12 500.00) annually for the support of the Public Libraries of IIouthold Town, for the Nears 1954-1955, and that the following prop- osition be submitted to the electors at the nest annual election; Shall the sum of Twel�Te Thousand Five Hundred Dollars 412, 500.00) be appropriated annually for the support of the Public Libraries of bouthold Town for the years 19 54-19 55 `?
