HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-03/24/1953 MEETING OF MARCH 24, 1953. The 6outhold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, March 24, 1953. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry; Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town, Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. .Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: >REgOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and here- by Are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Antes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor, Norman E. Klipp, at Greenport, on Tuesday, April 7, 19539 at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, and Clark. At 2 o 'clock P.M. in accordance with a notice published C' according to law, bids were opened for proposals to furnish the Town of Southold two 2-door Sedan standard model automobiles for use as police cars. The bids for the two cars were as follows: Greenport Auto Sales ----------$1478.2& Vail Bros. Inc.---------------- 2485.14 Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: WHEREAS, the lowest bid was submitted by the Greenport Auto Sales , THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he hereby is directed to enter into a contract with the Greenport Auto Sales for the purchase of two 2-door sedan standard model automobiles at a total of $1478.28. Vote of Town Board: .Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That inasmuch as the required dedication has been duly received, map of same duly filed, and the necessary papers signed,, the Town Board take over and maintain as a public highway "SWAMP ROAD" , situate at Cutchogue, in the Town of Southold, New York. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: . RESOLVED: That Bond No . 2546349 issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York, in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) on behalf of Angelo John Gada-, be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein. Vote of Town Board: .Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That effective April 4, 1953, the salaries of the employees of the Southold Town Police Department shall be in- creased to the following amounts: Chief-$14.00 per day, Sergeant-$12. 50, per day, Patrolman-$11.00 per day, Watchman-$10. 50 per day, and be it further RESOLVED: That the per diem compensation for each of the above employees be based on a six (6) day week, and be it further RESOLVED: That all employees of the Southold Town Police Department be compensated in regular bi-weekly payments.
