MEETING OF MARCH 11, 1953.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at Greenport, on Wednesday, March 11, 1953 . The meet-
ing was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Justicrs Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark;
Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and
Town Clerk Booth.
The Bomrd sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine
claims against the Town' concluding the Audit work at 2 P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and here-
by are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be
held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport,
on Tuesday, March 24, 1953 , at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, -
Tuthill, .Albertson and Clark.
Otto VanTuyl appeared before the Board presenting a map of
Marion Manor to be approved for sub-division purposes.
RESOLVED: That pursuant to Section 335 of the Real Prmperty
Law, the Town Board does hereby approve the Map of MARION
MANOR, .situated at East Marion, Town of Southold, New York,
owned and developed by Peter Blank and Son, for sub-division
purposes .
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill , Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the School Traffic Officers be under the
supervision of the Chief of Police of the Town of Southold.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill , Albertson and Clark.
The FollowingBonds were presented to the Board for approval.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. SM177-216, issued by the American
Motorists Insurance Company, in the sum of $500.00 on behalf
.of eatrick Kelly, be and the same is hereby approved as to
its- form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety
therein.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill , Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. SMi77-214, issued by the American
Motorists Insurance Company, in the sum of $500.00 on behalf
of Otto L. Anrig , be and the same is hereby approved as to its
form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein.

Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.

RESOLVED: That Bor-i. No . 177-215, issued by the American
Motorist Insurance Company in the sum of $500.00 on behalf
of Henry Y. King, be and the same is hereby approved as to
its form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety
therein.

Tuthill , Albertson and Calrk.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. 370829, issued by the Travelers
Indemnity Company in the sum of $5000.00, on behalf of
Adelard T. LeGere, as Dock Agent for the Fishers Island
Ferry District , be and the same is hereby approved as to
its form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety
therein.

RESOLVED: That Bondc,.No. 370827, issued by The Travelers
Indemnity Company in the sum of $500&'0M"on behalf of
Ernest John Bowles , as Purser for the Fishers Island Ferry
District, be and the same is hereby approved as to its form,
sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein.
Vote of Town Board: .Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill , Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. 370828, issued by the Travelers
Indemnity Company in the sum of $5000.00, on behalf of
Wilfred Sinclair as Manager of the Fishers Island Ferry
District, be and the same is hereby approved as to its form,
sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. .
It was agreed that the Chief of Police take the necessary
steps to have all Town Police Officers sworn in as Deputy
Sheriffs of Suffolk county.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of February
be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson And Clark.
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the sum of $2 401.199
Lighting District Bills in the sum of $G1,379. Fishers
Island Ferry District Bills in the sum of $10,330.73 ,
be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold
approve the action of the Board of Commissioners of the
Fishers Island Ferry District on the appointment of Ann
Carolyn Wall as Jr. Clerk of the said District with com-
pensation of One Dollar ($1.00) per hour , said compensation
to be payable monthly, and not to exceed the Annual sum of
Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00) , and be it further
RESOLVED: That said appointment be effective as of February 18,
1953.

WHEREAS , It becomes necessary for the Commissioners of the
Fishers Island Ferry District. to appoint some parson to fill
a vacancy on the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers island
Ferry District, caused by the death of Hans Hansen,Now, There-
fore , be it
RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold approves
the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry
District of the appointments of Rowland Oswald as Commissioner
of the Fishers Island Ferry District to serve in such capacity
until the next annual election of the district , and be it
further
RESOLVED:. That such appointment be effective as of February 27,
1953 .

Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.

WHEREAS, the Town Superintendent of Highways did on the llth
day. of March, 1953 , duly recommend the purchase of certain
machinery pursuant to the provisions of Section 142 of ..the
Highway Law, and a notice of such recommendation has been
duly published as provided in such section
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 142
of the highway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is
hereby authorized to purchase from The Long lsla�d Produce
& Fertilizer Co. , Inc. with the approval of the County
Superintendent of Highways
One 1953 International Model R-192" W. B. Chassis , Oversize
Engine , Two Speed Rear Axle , DeLuxe . Cab, 10.00 x 20 -
12 Ply Tires , .Air .Brakes , Heavy Duty Front &,-Rear Springs ,
Oil Filter, Heater & Defroster , Signal Lights , Reflectors
& Flares,.,-5 Speed Transmission, Garwood Lodel W-12, 4 Cu. Yd.
Dump Body' F - 21 Hoist , Price less all taxes for a total
price of Seven Thousand Seven hundred & 00/ID00 Dollars
($7,700.00) , delivered at Peconic, Long Island, on or
about .April lst, W3 .
The Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized,
subject to approval of the County Superintendent of
Highways , to surrenddr to the above named vendor, One 1946
International Dump Truck, as part Payment Bor the above
machinery to be purchased. ,
The terms of payment will be as follows:
Trade in allowance----------$ 17200.00
Check drawn on Machinery Fund-6, 500.00
Total Cost of Machinery-------7,700-00
