HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-02/10/1953 7 - MEETING OF FEBRUARY 10, 1953. The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, Bebruary 10, 1953. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: - Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the Audit work at 2:30 P.M. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote. of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill., Albertson and Clark. Stanley Corwin, Esq. appeared before the Board on behalf of the Trustee of the Village of Greenport, and presented papers cover- ing their proposed annexation of additional territory to the incorporated Village. This matter was laid on the table for further consideration. Moved by Justice Clark: seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at the office of Supervisor Normans:'. E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, February 24, 1953, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill , Albertson and Clark. The Bond of Edwin S. Conklin weds presented to the Board for approval. RESOLVED: That Bond No. 2546273 issued by the Fidelity and Casu- alty Company on behalf of Edwin S. Conklin in the Sum of $1,000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein. Vote of Town •Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justiees Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Albertson;. seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the. Police Report for the month of January and the yearly Police Report for i952, be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark: Seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Police Reports be posted on the bulletin board in the office of the Police Department. Vote of-the Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill , Albertson and Clark. A communication was read from the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce requesting the Town Board to have the light on pole No , 677 moved to pole No. 678 and replace with a 250 c p light. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED': That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove the 100 c p light on pole No 677 and replace it on pole No 678 with a 250 cp light (near Mechanics Halls in the Mattituck Lighting District No. 1, Mattituck, N. Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. 48 A request was received from the American Legion at Mattituck, requesting the Town Board to have a light installed on pole No 6 on Wickham Avenue in Mattituck, N.Y. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install one addition- al 100 c p aerial street light on pole no. 6 on Wickham Ave. in the Mattituck Lighting District No. 1 , Mattituck, N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justiees Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. A petition was received from property owners on Marlene Lane Mattituck, requesting the Town Board to have street lights installed on Marlene Lane, in Mattituck. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request, the Long Island Lighting Company to install five additional 100 c p aerial street lights in the Mattituck Lighting District No. 1, said lights to be , placed on poles No . 392-5, No. 4, No. 7, No. 10 and No. 13 on Marlene Lane, in Mattituck, N.Y. Vote of Town Board:, Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justiees Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. A communication was received from Mr. A. F. ;Weimann request- ing that street lights be installed near his property on Sound View Avenue. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighing Company to install three additional 100 c p aerial street lights in the Peconic Lighting District, said lights to be placed on poles No 100 No 103 and No 106 on Sound View Avenue , Southold, N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice. Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the sum of $3 ,956.85, Light- ing District Bills in the sum of $3 ,775.66, ,Town Trustee Account Bills in the sum of $40.00 Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the sum of $6144b.73 , Fishers Island Refuse and Garbage District Bills in the sum of $42.75 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, "lbertson and Clark.. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That by the Town Board of the Town of Southold , Ralph P. Booth, Town Clerk, be and hereby is authorized to dispose of record items No. C-1 on Records Disposition Request List No . 1 to 9 Inclusive, 10 to 17 Inclusive, 18, 21, 565 585 649 65, 67, 685 69 issued pursuant to section 114 of the Regulations of the Commissioners of Education, and be it further RESOLVED: That the Clerk of this Board be, and hereby is directed to furnish a certified copy of this Resolution to be forwarded to the Commissioner of Education.
