The Southold Town Board net at. the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at @reenport,. on Tuesday, November 25, 1952. The
meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M.- with the following pre-
sent: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson,
Clark and Edwards; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Towh
Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
Moved by Justice Clark;. seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board:- Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson, Clark, and Edwards.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this. Board be held-
at the office of Supervisor Norman Ei Klipp at Greenport, on
Tuesday, December 9, 1952, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board:; Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Clark and Edwards .
Mrs. A. N. Ronning appeared before the Board on Behalf of prop-
erty owners abutting on the proposed highways to be known as
HARBORVIEW AVENUE and EAST. SIDE AVENUE through land of the
Westphalia Corporation at Mattituck.
Moved by Sup 't. of Highways Price; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That inasmuch as the required dedications have been
duly received, Map of same duly filed, and the necessary papers
signed, the Town Board take over and maintain as public highways
HARBOHVIEW AVENUE and EAST SIDE AVENUE, situated at- Mattituck,
Town of Southold, County 'ef Suffolk, New York.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson, Clark, Edwards,
and Sup 't of Highways Price.
In accordance with Section 197 of the Town Law a notice was
published in the Long Island Traveler-i"lattituck Watchman, The
Suffolk Times and The New London Day inviting sealed proposals
for the collection and disposal of all the garbage and refuse
in the Fishers island Garbage District. Bids were opened at 2
o 'clock P.M. in accordance with the notice published in the
above 'mentioned papers . The following bids were submitted:
N. B. King, Inc. , New London, Conn.-------$12,800.00 per Yr.
A. John Gada , Fishers Island, N.Y.-------- 21,907.00 per yr.
Albert Chaplaski, Fishers Island, N.Y. ---- 269840.00 per Yr.
Some discussion was held on the matter and the decision of the
Town Board was to appoint a committee to investigate the bids
and report at the next 'meeting.of the Board.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That a committee consisting of Justice Edwards and
Justice Clark be appointed to investigate the bids of the above
named persons and report their findings to the Board at their
next meeting.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Albertson, Clark and Edwards.
Bonds for the following Officers were presented to the Board
for approval.
Moved by Justice Edwards ; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. SM176986, issued by the American Insur-
ance Company, in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) on
behalf of Barney P. Harris , be and the same is hereby approved
as to its form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of
surety therein.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. SM176987, issued by The American Motor-
ists Insurance 'Company, in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00)
on behalf of Henry B. Faucon, be and the same if hereby approved
as to its form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of. surety
therein. '

Tuthill, Clark and Edwards .
Moved by Justice .Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:,
RESOLVED: That Bond No. 2507781, issued by The Fidelity and Casualty
Company of New 'k8rk, in the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00)
on behalf of Receiver of Taxes Edwin F. Salminen, be and the .same
is hereby approved astD its form, sum, manner of execution and
sufficiency of surety therein.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill,
Albertson and Clark. -
Otto W. Van Tuyl appeared before the Board on behalf of nerbert
and Inez Fordham stating they would donate 10 feet of their
property which lies on the northeast side of Manhansett Avenue,
in order to widen the southeast end of said Avenue from 492 feet
to 60 feet running about 1500 feet to the southeast, also remove
the fence from the old line to the new line without cost to them.
Moved by Superintendent of Highways Price; seconded by Justice
Clark;
RESOLVED: That the matter of widening Manhansett Avenue from
492 feet to 60 feet as requested by Herbert and Inez Fordham,be
laid on the ' table until such time as the Board can investigate
the condition of the fence and the cost og removing it from the
old line to the new line as above specified.

WHEREAS ,' a petition bearing the names of more than and rep-
resenting more than 51% of assessed valuation of property owners
residing on Main Street, Orient, Town of 6outhold, was presented
to the - Town Board requesting it to change the name of "Main Street"
to "Village Lane" .
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the aforesaid petition be
granted by this Board to change the name of "Main Street" to "
"Village Lane", at Orient, Town of Southold, County of Suffolk
and State of New York.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to
notify Mr. Abram Latham, Town Board of Assessors, The Suffolk
County Clerk, The County Superintendent of Highways and the
United States Post Office Department, Washington, D. C.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry,
Tuthill and Clark.
