The Annual Fishers Island meeting of the Southold Town Board was
held: at 'F-ishers I's=land School" 'on' Tuesday =-August 17 1971- at 1 :00
P.M. with the following present :
Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, Councilman James H. Rich,

Justice Louis M. Demarest, Justice E. Perry Edwards, ' 'Town

RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will� be

Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest, Justice
Edwards.
The Fishers Island Civic''-Association, Inc. presented the Town Board
with a list of problems confronting the residents of Fishers Island,
all of which were discussed. List follows :
Sewage Disposal in the fort area, pollution in Silver Eel
Pond and what can be done about, it.
Dredging in Pirates Cove - when starting?
Congestion at airport - how to stop learners from practicing, etc.
South Beach - can it be restricted to Island residents and
their guests; campers and picnicers from mainland causing a problem.
Ferry problems - parking and traffic at dock; round trip rates
for cars on shopping days; extra winter trips for Olinda in times
when Mystic Isle isn' t able to run; commutation books; is Mystic
Isle seaworthy and attwhat date will it have to be replaced; long
range planning - is there any?
Mosquito Control - more funds for next year.
Harbor Master - more funds for next year.
Adjournment wasat 2 :45 P.M.
At the close of the meeting, all were invited to the Legion Hall
for a light lunch and coffee served by several ladies of Fishers
Island. A vote of thanks was given to the ladies.
