The Society has decided that the second floor will not be utilized for assembly (meeting room) as previously noted on the drawings submitted. The use will be solely for archival/storage use with an occupancy of no more than eight to ten persons. The Society will be willing to sign an affidavit to this effect, should your department require. In making this change of use, the Society will be able to eliminate the need for the exterior stair, exterior second floor exit door, and the chairlift for the stairway. It is the intention of the Society to utilize one of the windows at the front of the building in each second floor space for emergency egress. The square footage of the second floor spaces is less than 2,000 square feet cumulative, thus permitting a single exit. The existing stair will have to be enclosed and the side exit door will be utilized to provide direct exit to the exterior. (See Table X-765 N.Y.S.
