Town of the departments position in transferring small, escallops within
the Towns ,of Suffolk County.
The Highway Supt. brought to the attention of the Town Board the fact
that certain properties adjacent to the Highway Buildings at Peconic may
be available for purchase. The Highway Committee was directed to examine
the property and report back to the Board.

MEETING OF DECEMBER 12, 1961'.
The, Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M.
Albertson, at Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, December 12, 1961 at. 3: 00 PM
with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker and
Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of November 28, 1961, be and they hereby are
duly approved as read.

RESOLVED: That the next monthly meeting of the Town Board be held at

the salary of James Mellas will be $20.00 per day.

WHEREAS, Frederick F. Rackett has completed six months satisfactory

the salary 5f Frederick F. Rackett will be $17.50 per day.

WHEREAS, the Police Committee reported that the lowest bid on the Police
Uniforms was submitted by Caleb Smith & Sons,
RESOLVED: That Lester M. Albertson, Supervisor, be and he hereby is direct-
ed to enter into a contract with Caleb Smith & Sons for the purchase of
Police Uniforms in accordance with bids submitted by the said Caleb
Smith & Sons.

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers• Isiand Ferry District, at
a meeting held on the sixth day of December, 1961, adopted a resolution in-
creasing the salary of Wilfred C. Sinclair, Manager of the Fishers Island
rry District, from $5, 560 per annum to $7, 060 per annum;-, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the special act of the Legislature creating said
District such action of the Board of Ferry District Commissioners is subject
to the approval of the Town Board of the Town of Southold, and
WHEREAS, a copy of said resolution has been submitted to this Board for
the purpose of approving the action of the Ferry District Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, after study of this matter and a comparison of the proposed salary
of said manager with those of other officials of the Town indicates that
such an increase would result in a salary to the Ferry District Manager in
excess of any other salary paid to other officials of the Town, and also
that the duties and responsibilities of the manager of said District are
less than those of other officials of the Town receiving a smaller salary,
now therefore be it
RESOLVED thtLt the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby disapproves
of the action of the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Is&and Ferry
District in increasing the annual salary of Wilfred C. Sinclair from
$5, 560 to $7, 060 per annum.

be and hereby is granted for a period of one year .

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Joseph Poliwoda to
locate a single trailer on the property of Con Poliwoda Est. E/S Bay View
Road, Southold, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for year round occupancy for
a period of one year upon the condition that the front yard setback be not
less than 35 ' and the side yards be not less than 15 ' on one side and 10'
on the other side.

WHEREAS, Section 105 of the Town' Law provides that the Supervisor and
Justices sRall account to the Town Board for all monies received and dis-
bursed by the Supervisor and Justices on or after the 28th day of December,
but not later than the 31st day of December in each year, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board deems it necessary to engage a, public accountant
to prepare the aforesaid annual account for the Supervisor and Justices,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board engage the services
of Irving Miller, a public accountant, ' to make the annual audit of the
books, records, receipts and other documents of the Supervisor and
Justices of the Town of Southold, for the-,fiscal year 1961.

An invitation to bid on 62 acres of property at Fishers Island, N.Y.
was received from General Administration. After discussion the Town
Board and also E. Perry Edwards, Justice of the Peace of Fishers
Island decided that the Town Board should not submit a bid on the
property.
A letter was received from Senator Barrett regarding land at New Suffolk,
N.Y. . He informed the Board that he had not been in contact with the
Attorney General' s Office in an effort to expedite a discussion on
the property.
Supervisor Albertson informed the Board that aerial photos were avail-
able. through U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Stabiliz-
ation and Conservation Service and the Board authorized Supervisor
Albertson ro order necessary phmtographs to complete the area of the
Town of Southold.

WE, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive notice
of the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to be
held at Greenport, in the Town of Southold, New York, on Thursday,
Dec . 21, 1961, and do hereby consent that the same be held on said date
for the transaction of any business which may properly come before this

A special meeting of the Southold Town. Board was held tt the Supervisor ' s
Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Thursday, December 21, 1961,
the members of the Board having waived notice of the time, place and
purpose of the meeting. The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor,
Lester M. Albertson, at 3: 00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark;
Town Attorney Tasker and Chief Anrig and Town Clerk Richmond.
At 3:00 P.M. in accordance with the notice published, according to law,
bids were opened for proposals fo furnish to the Town of Southold six
(6) resuscitors for the police cars. Two bids were submitted: L. I. Fire
Equipment Co. and Carl A. Hennicke.
L. I. Fire Equipment Co.-6 Emerson Resuscitators Model FC without flexible
connector -- $249.00 each.
6 Emerson Resuscitators same as above with flexible
connectors --$259.00 each.
Carl Hennicke - 6 Emerson Resuscitators Model F.C. - $1529.50

of resuscitators in accordance with the bids submitted .
